I use these primarily as hiking/camping pants, and occasionally as "tourist" pants when rain is in the forecast and I'm going to be spending the day out and about sight-seeing. They are quite comfortable and I've had no durability issues so far, and mine see some rough outdoors use. They dry very quickly and the stretch allows free movement, so these are actually pretty ideal for hiking pants. The pockets are on the shallow side. If you're being vigilant for pick-pockets, don't keep anything valuable in the back patch pockets, or the front pockets if the item is larger. Thankfully, the pants have two zippered pockets -- one on the right thigh and on the back right. The cut is pretty full, and the zippered cargo pocket is not stylish, so these do not double as chinos for me and I would not wear these to the office or out to dinner. I had a different version of these Orvis tech pants from several years ago. Then last year I tried another brand that cost looked good online. A mistake. Recently I bought these and am very happy, overall There are a couple of differences from my previous Orvis tech pants that make these slightly less informal.suitable for restaurants, etc, as well for office wear. One change is the removal of two sizeable cargo pockets and the right hip pocket. They are replaced with a handy phone size pocket on the side of the right leg. I originally bought a pair at a local store, and loved them. Problem is I have trouble finding my size, everyone must be short. I like these better than Union Bay, much better quality. These tech pants have nice material, decent stitching and very comfortable. If there is one issue it may be the plastic button. I would think it would get broken, either while wearing or in the wash. I prefer a metal rivet closure. Time will tell on the durability. They also shipped the wrong color, so I took off one star. I hate returns so I’ll keep them. Otherwise you can’t go wrong with these. The Orvis Tech pants are durable with accurate sizing. They are available in even waist sizes and pants lengths of 29-34. The Tech pants are available in Navy, Olive Green, Tan and Grey. The wide elastic waist band really makes these pants incredibly comfortable with a nice fit. The fabric does not stain and they wash and dry without the need for ironing. A great all-around pant! Pro: I love these tech pants. They’re very lightweight and stretchy. I especially love the tech pocket midway down the right thigh. Perfect for my iPhone. Easy to reach for in my busy work. And it has a zipper to lock my iPhone or anything else in the pocket. The right rear pocket also zips to keep my wallet secure when traveling. And they’re water resistant; spill a little water and wipe off. Dry! Cons: They’re it dress pants so don’t look for creases unless you iron them. And they’re a bit wrinkly out of the dryer. My biggest complaint by far, is that they are almost impossible to find, and I don’t know why. The only color I find from time to time are dark green. I have two pairs of these, one tan, and one gray. I bought the latter from Costco, which no longer sells them, and I’m kicking myself for not grabbing more before the y sold. Thank goodness for Amazon coming to the rescue, but again, only in green. Hopefully Amazon will be able to get more of these Orbison Tech Pants, and in different colors. These are great pants. love the fit and overall comfort of them. They look great and wear really nice, I use them mostly for the weekend or even at work for business casual. They fit true to size which is rare these days. I am 5ft 11inch and 165lbs and normally wear 32x32 and these fit perfect. Read more
