Well made and the perfect size for a smaller adult or child. I love this for day trips. Plenty of pockets with excellent straps that fit me well. The back, larger space is lined with a strong "back board" to give better support. I am a smaller adult and the shoulder straps feel great. I think this is perfect for school, church, or just a basic day trip. The colors in this backpack do pop out and make it easy to locate. That makes it perfect for a small child. Small but well-made ideal for younger kids who want to be more independent. The structured back adds a bit of weight, but it helps make the backpack much more comfortable. My son happily carried about 4 lbs of potatoes for me in it. The green color is easy to find without being garish. I am a big fan of Osprey packs, owning the 32L Nebula as my commuter/weekend/daily pack and the 40L Farpoint forlonger trips, both of which I love, so when I had the opportunity to review the Talon Junior, I jumped on it. I got this for my son this summer got hiking and fishing trips. This bag fits his 8 year old frame perfectly and should get a lot of good use out of it this summer. The quality seems Osprey-esque and the color scheme is right in any boys wheelhouse. If I could change anything about it, I'd make it slightly bigger interior volume wise so that he could use it for school, but it's a minor gripe, as that's not what the bag is advertised for. All in all, it is a really nice little backpack. I personally would wait for it to go on sale to pick one up, versus $100, but unless I/my family need something superfluous like this urgently and immediately, I almost always wait for a sale to get it, and don't think the current price tag is unreasonable, especially with it being Osprey and coming with a lifetime guarantee. This backpack is obviously designed for a kid in mind but I got it specifically to use as an adult. I wanted something small for short day hikes, most small backpacks were still just too big and I found myself with a bunch of empty space and only a few items in the backpack. This is still perfect for just a small first aid kit, water, and a small snack or two which is really all I need for just a few hours. The build quality is just as good as any other osprey product, it seems very durable and has all the extra little straps and pockets you would expect from the brand. The only minor negative is that the color scheme does seem more childish than some of the adult models, I'm not a fan of the huge contrast between the lighter and darker greens but a very minor issue when it functions so well. I love this bag, it's very well made and the bright green colors are fun. The highlight is the lid lock helmet attachment is a game changer! No more hanging your helmet off things once you're off bike. I can't believe this simple thing isn't more common. This alone made the new bags and upgrade to consider for me. The big hoops on the zipper make it easy to access the main pocket on the go. There's a nice room mesh pocket and support for a bladder system (not included). The side pockets stretch, but are fairly small, so fitting a large bottle won't be easy. Most 16-20oz will fit no problem. Overall great day biking bag and day hike bag. You're certainly not picking this up to go on a multi day, but it's a great addition to my hiking/biking gear. Read more
