It's the middle of winter so I can't really test it's effectiveness on sun burn, but boy does this feel nice on razor rash/bumps. This is not just pure aloe vera gel but a mixture of aloe and extracts along with glycerin other additives (see photo of ingredient list). I think the description is a little misleading especially without showing a photo of the ingredient list or posting the full ingredient list for potential customers. For this, I give 3 stars because transparency is super important for skincare products. I first used this on my legs before bed as some of the ingredients are reported good for anti-inflammatory. The gel is cooling and made my legs feel really good. It comes out like a typical aloe gel and it starts drying to a tacky feel but dries down non sticky—it dried/absorbed and left no residue or discoloring on my sheets. I did try this on my face as well as I like to use allow vera gel as a moisturizer primer under makeup. I did not have any adverse reactions and it tingled a bit. I would be cautious if you have sensitive skin. My skin is 46 yrs old and on the normal side. I am not sure I would use this on sunburns as suggested in the product description—at least not until I run the ingredient lists through incidecoder website. But for general moisturizing and cooling down my peri-menopausal skin it works quite well. You get a large bottle and it comes with a pump.
