I’ve been using this Owfeel heated ice cream scoop pretty much every day for almost a month now, and I only just had to charge it. That’s with regular use, so the battery life has honestly impressed me. It heats up quickly and actually does what it’s supposed to do. No more digging into a rock-solid pint and launching it across the room when it finally breaks through. I grab it, turn it on and give it a minute, and it's ready to glide right through like a hot knife through butter. As someone who eats ice cream way more often than I probably should, this thing has been a godsend. It’s one of those gadgets that makes you wonder why you didn’t buy it sooner. It cannot be immersed in water but it is relatively easy to clean. If I had to nitpick, I wish the little cover over the USB port was more of a rubber plug type. An attached plug to cover the port would make it harder to lose than what's included. Certainly not a deal breaker. Other than that, I love it. For me, it’s worth every cent. This is a really nice heated ice cream scoop. It is well made and durable enough for my needs. The scoop comes with a USB charging cord. I like that it has IP67 water resistance. It can be rinsed off and cleaned without any issues. The scoop is very easy to use. It has a one button design. Once activated, it just needs a minute to heat up before use. The scoop has a nice feel and is comfortable to hold. It's not too heavy, which I appreciate. The scoop does a great job of serving hard frozen ice cream. The display shows the temperature in real time, which is nice. I can tell if it needs a few seconds to heat back up. I have arthritis in my hands, and this scoop makes the process a lot easier. Pros: - Heats up quickly - LED display is good universal design, and helpful for those with limited vision - USB-C cord included Cons: - The cap to waterproof the charging end isn’t that tight; I think that this needs better design - There seems to be a covering that is entirely missing over the power button on the one that I received. It doesn't match the product photos, and you can see right into the housing, so this is neither waterproof nor safe Summary: I was excited to select this one, especially as I get older it is harder to serve up a lot of frozen custard for a bunch of people, but this product doesn’t seem quite ready to sell, yet. It definitely has potential, and if they make some changes on the waterproofing, that might do it. With the power button just open to the inside, this doesn't seem safe to me. I had an issue trying to charge it via USB off of the computer, too: a message popped up about corruption and that the computer had to restart. I have never had that happen before, so it might not be related to connecting this to charge, but it could be. See photos for the power button issue. I got this mainly to deal with those super hard blocks of Brazilian açaí, and it works really well for that. Normally you have to wait for it to soften or fight with a regular scoop, but with this one it cuts through much easier after a short warm up. It heats up quickly and you can feel the difference right away when you start scooping. Instead of forcing it, the scoop just glides in and makes clean portions. It also works great with regular ice cream straight from the freezer, especially the really dense kinds. The handle is comfortable, and the battery seems to last a long time between charges. Cleanup is simple too since you can just rinse it off. Overall, it’s one of those small kitchen gadgets that actually makes a difference, especially if you deal with hard frozen açaí or ice cream often. Read more
