The quality of this cheese slicer is great as expected of all OXO products, of which I will normally choose if available. I have been using to cut slices from a hard block of sharp cheddar cheese and it does the job efficiently by producing nice thin to medium slices depending on the angle. I have a block of Muenster cheese in the fridge waiting to get the OXO treatment. This has been great to get fresh slices for sandwiches and for quesadillas. I am able to slice cheese quickly especially when making quesadillas for the whole household. This product is better than using a knife which got me in uneven cuts that triggered some carpal tunnel pain in my hands. Wish I would have bought this sooner. Will buy again. Read more

Feels great in my hand and cuts soft cheese great. Tilting the angle of the face/handle provides thin or thick slices. Took a little practice but I got that figured out. The only downside is that that blade area is a bit on the thin side. It flexes when under any amount of force (which is good for soft cheeses) but I struggled slicing harder cheeses because of this. Never could get a consistent cut with hard cheeses because the excessive for required to make the cut caused the cutting surface to flex so much that the thickness was all over the place. Maybe my motor control skills are too shot but it doesn't work near as well on hard cheese as my old-school one that is super rigid. Bottom line works great on most cheeses but can be difficult on hard ones. Read more

Cheese planes are a thing for me. OK, maybe I have a problem, and I won't rationalize it. I have this thing for finding the perfect planes that slice cleanly, get the thickness right, make smooth and perfect slices... This one is really close, and the best thing I've found on Amazon, so far. It is definitely better than that Wusthof you have in your other tab as you consider cheese planes. I know, you doubt me -- you believe in them like I do, knowing they make nice stuff, but trust me on this: This inexpensive plane works much better. Gripes: it feels a little flimsy, to me. But I haven't broken it yet, so maybe it's just a "feelings" thing. Anyway, this is a great little plane, better than a whole lot of them that are more expensive. Read more
