Cute, readable measuring cup

I have some huge plastic measuring cups that were not making me happy. So I ordered this measuring cup as pricey as it is! It is very unique and I enjoy using it. Of course all your measurements for cooking are on it. It is very good quality unlike what I had. Not real huge because I do not like that. It has oz. Up to 16, ml up to 500 and of course 1/4 up to 2 cups. The inside is unique and hard to explain but that’s what makes it fun as well as cute. A nice grip handle and looks like glass until to pick it up and is light weight yet good quality unless you throw it. Pouring spout and as much as I pd for it I will use and enjoy it‼️It will last as long as the red letter on will last, they make it really easy to see‼️But, hey it’s a nice measuring cup and this granny really likes it!😁 Read more

Perfect! I use it ALL the time!

Don't believe some of the negative reviews. This measuring cup is perfect for almost every liquid and the convenience of being able to read it looking down from the top is primo. I'm going to address some of the bogus negative comments I've read: It measures differently looking down from the top compared to looking at the markings on the side. Not true. Looking at the side, you use the bottom of the meniscus that forms with water-based liquids to measure -- not the top of the meniscus. Looking from the top, you can't see the meniscus, so the top of the liquid actually touches the line, When you compare the two, if you're reading the bottom of the meniscus looking at the side of the cup and you have the top of the liquid just touching the mark and not going over, you'll find the two methods are totally spot on, one with the other. It doesn't pour well. It pours perfectly for me, every time. I frequently use it to pour water into my electric drip coffeemaker and also to boil just the right amount in my teakettle to brew a personal-sized pot of tea (I don't want to boil more water than I need because we're experiencing a horrible drought and water is a precious resource). Nothing dribbles down the outside of the cup, and the stream of liquid being poured goes right where I want it to go. These measuring cups can't nest. Well, I suppose if you had two of the same size, say two of the 2-cup size I'm reviewing here, it wouldn't nest. But I can tell you that I also own the 1-cup size and the small 1/4 cup (2 fl.oz.) size and they nest perfectly, readily and easily. That's how I store them, in fact. I'm considering ordering the 4-cup size, but I seldom have need for one that large, so I haven't bought one yet. These are very hard to clean if you measure oil in them. Perhaps if you are doing it by hand, but I put mine in the top rack of the dishwasher and that cleans it perfectly. (To prevent etching of glassware, I fill the uncovered detergent cup with liquid automatic dishwasher gel detergent, and I put a dishwasher detergent tablet in the covered cup. Works like a charm.) I still have my set of Pyrex measuring cups and if I'm boiling water in the microwave oven or melting butter or chocolate, I use my Pyrex cups for that. I also use the Pyrex cups to measure honey or syrup, because I want to get a sticky liquid out of the cup completely using a silicone spatula. For such a liquid, in these OXO cups, scraping a sticky liquid out with a spatula is difficult because of the "stepped" oval measuring ring provided for top viewing. That said, I don't measure syrup or honey all that often. I suppose if I were trying to use metric measurements all the time, I wouldn't like it so much. The ring shows cups on one side and fluid ounces on the other. Metric markings are only on the side. But I seldom have to measure anything using the metric system, since U.S. recipes provide liquid quantities in cups or fluid ounces. I simply wouldn't want to be without one of these wonderful measuring cups that you can read without crouching down to look at the side. Read more

Easy to read. Measuring cup but probably best for liquids

This a fine measuring cup but really works best with liquids. I use it for flour when cooking. I'm never sure if I'm getting exactly the amount I need. Good quality Read more

A great measuring cup

My wife, who needs glasses but often chooses not to wear them while cooking or baking, absolutely loves this measuring cup because it is so easy to see how much liquid is in it. As I often help out in the kitchen, I am nearly as fond of it as she is. Read more
