These are the best down pillows I've had. I searched through the extensive Amazon offerings of down/feather pillows and decided on these; some others focused on their special cotton covering, as if you were going to sleep right on that, but I think we all use pillow cases. These pillows (I bought standard size) are just slightly longer than others, and are on the firm side, they have quite a weight of feather/down mix, but also enough give to provide soft comfort, thus it cradles your head and neck without sinking in too far. The packaging is very good, the pillows fluffed up from their compressed shipping form within a couple of hours, there is no odor. I finally get great sleep. The price is good. I have only one minor complaint. As the online illustration of pillow construction shows, and is the case for most of the down pillows, there is a thin layer between the down and the cotton surface of plastic material. Some pillows, like this, have it as a sheet, others have it as a mass of fibers, but it seems to be standard these days (keeps the pillow structure, helps prevent feathers from escaping, etc.); there is a slight crinkly sound from this material when I first lay down. This was 95% feather. 5% down. Feathers are hard when massed. I was disappointed because I own this company’s earlier version 85% and 15%. The earlier one great for those who need soft pillow. The later version is hard. Yes. You can fluff it up. But it flattens hard soon after. Read more

I bought these pillows because they are made of natural materials, and I want to support that. They are truly well made and look like they would last forever, but they have a "stiffness" to them that is not conducive to restful sleep. For me. I have to tuck the edge of my pillow under my face - can't stand to have my nose buried - and these are not soft/pliable enough to comfortably do that. These pillows would be great for back sleepers.
