The initial smell is really strong. It smells just like hot chocolate but I find it to be honestly overwhelming and it makes me a little nauseous. After I’ve actually put it on my skin however, it has a much more faint, sweet chocolately smell that doesn’t really linger. As for how it actually is as an oil- I love it. I bought it because I get super dry skin but it’s soo much work to put lotion on my whole body and I wanted something lower effort. Although I find that it absorbs super fast which can make it kinda hard to spread, if you use a good amount and your skin isn’t absolutely dying of dryness then it’s easy to apply. I love layering it beneath a lotion, which locks in moisture and makes the lotion much easier to apply. I was planning on getting the Palmers cocoa butter lotion but I found a very similar product for much better value from Nivea which i recommend (can’t attest to how it actually compares because I haven’t tried palmers yet). I’ve noticed the oil makes my skin super soft and hydrated, and even helps a little with redness and evening out my skin tone. The bottle will last a while even if I use it on my whole body after every shower. I’ve noticed over time since using it I need to use less because my skin is less dry. Overall I definitely recommend it, especially if you’ve got dry skin but you’re super lazy. Read more
