Panasonic DVD-S47S Progressive Scan DVD Player

For under $100 you cannot beat this player. It is superior to the models available at the store for the same price such as the S27 but it also has S video and optical inputs. I tested the S25 on my Panasonic LCD TV after viewing DVDs on my non progressive scan Sony player. I saw differences in all three. The S47 had the clearest picture. You must change the setting to 480P from the defaul 480I. Also you can set the DVD to cinema mode, adjust what type of TV (LCD widescreen for example) and I got a perfect picture. Check it out. I purchased the DVD-S47S about 3 weeks ago and it has been a pleasant surprise. The setup is a must with this DVD player if you want Theater grade video and sound. A number of different Panasonic DVD players get the dreaded H07 error code anywhere from 10 months to 1.5 years old. If you google for "panasonic dvd H07" you will see MANY people complaining about the problem. Be sure to check out the problem for this model before you buy. I am a Panasonic DVD player owner and was happy with its performance until the dreaded H07 error occurred. It is only good for the trash now as repair costs more than buying a new unit. Many other users have had this problem with many different models of Panasonic DVD players made in China. Perhaps their chinese supplier did a shortcut that resulted in the many H07 errors.
