I’ve been using 3-blade foil shavers exclusively for over 20 years. This is the best one, and I’ve used many over the years (mostly Braun). Glad I found this Panasonic gem. To be clear, I prefer 3-blade style foil shavers + comb-shave option. I can keep a light beard and clean up the hair on my cheek-bones & whatnot. If you prefer a completely clean shave everyday of your entire life, go ahead & get a massive 5-blade ARC5 or another dinosaur shaver. Stop comparing a 3-blade foil shaver to a different style shaver- that’s nonsense. Anyways.. the linear motor is a huge upgrade from rotary. The trimmer attachments are surprisingly efficient for cleaning up sideburns or trimming your beard. No snags- just clean cuts. It’s super nice. There’s no battery % indicator, but it only takes 1-hour for a full charge, and it doesn’t degrade the battery if you leave it on the charger. Just throw it on the charger every Sunday, and you’re good. Stop being a baby back B-word. Read more

After 50+ years of safety blade shaving, I switched to this Panasonic Electric Shaver. In addition to daily shaving It handles my 2-3 days of beard growth for a clean shave. Good battery life and I love how easy it is to clean. I consider the trimmer and attachments to be a plus. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Read more

The media could not be loaded. PROS- OK price Close shave Easy to clean Fast recharge Built in trimmer Two pop-on trimmer variable depth guards Very gentle on your skin. CONS- Whiny sound No charge remaining indicator Cheap feel I've used Norelco rotary shavers for 40 years, and this Panasonic does at least as good a job as the Norelcos with a lot less complexity. You get about a week plus a few days of maintenance shaving with this unit, and because there's no indicator to tell you how much charge is left a beeping after shutoff is how you know it needs charging. You can NOT use the shaver while its being charged like some others. It maybe be a safety feature The cutting head is simple. Behind the screen a T shaped head with slots cut in it vibrates left and right, cutting the hairs as they enter the screen. The bulk of the cutting happens in the middle of the screen where the larger openings are. Finer hairs can enter the smaller holes above and below that area. I feel no grabbing or pulling from this cutter system. No redness or skin irritation. To clean, you just put a bit of liquid soap on the screen and run it while running water over the head. The screen pops off This is FAR easier to clean than a Norelco triple rotary, with all the dismantling of the cutting head. Norelco replacement heads are also expensive and hard to find for models a few years old. The trimmer head pops up when you slide a button, and it does a good job of trimming. Depth control when trimming eyebrows or other delicate areas comes from two adjustable plastic guards that snap onto the extended trimmer. One guard has length settings of 1,2,3 and the other 4,5,6. My only complaints are that there is no battery charge indicator (not surprising at this relatively low price) and the Key of G whine that the shaver makes when its running. Norelcos have a satsfying whirring sound, and in a quiet house I think someone shaving with this unit would be heard in nearby bedrooms. The construction of this shaver comes off as adequate, but kind of cheap. I have not explored more expensive Panasonic models, but I'm betting that jumping up a model level would take care of that. This is a good entry level shaver, or a test case for switching from rotary shavers to this style. Based on my experience with this entry level model, my next shaver will probably be a more upscale Panasonic. Read more

My last Panasonic razor lasted 17 years, but the battery is finally starting to lose charge fast. It was a great design and worked flawlessly. This one I have had for a bit now and appears to follow its predecessor's standard for quality. It charges quickly, lasts weeks on a charge, and works perfectly. It can be used, and cleaned with running water making cleaning it a breeze. This comes highly recommended! Read more

I've owned so many electric shavers for both my face and head. I most recently used a Braun Series 8 for my face and head, and prior to that used an old Braun 7 for my face and a Skullshaver Pitbull Gold for my head. Add to that an electric trimmer to keep the old goatee in shape, and I was traveling with more kit than I wanted. Seeing that this Panasonic razor had a snap on trimmer accessory, and having had an old ARC 3 in the past which shaved great I thought...maybe this is the razor that can do everything. I have seriously not beed disappointed. It gives a closer shave both on my face and head than either Braun and the Pitbull Gold. Shaving my face has never been faster, but it is slower than the Pitbull shaving my head (taking double the time...about 10 minutes compared to 5 for the Pitbull). I just tried wet shaving today, and my head feels like it was shaved with a safety razor...so smooth. The trimmer works shockingly well...I have had add on trimmers on other shavers before, but they all stank compared to my $15 remington dedicated trimmer, but this Panasonic's trimmer works just as well as the dedicated trimmer for my goatee. All in all...this is one heckuva shaver for not a lot of money. Read more
