I ended up mounting it to my ceiling. It works great. Use it all the time to stretch out my back and pull ups. Read more

Looks sturdy

This looks sturdy enough, but the welds look pretty sloppy. Probably wouldn't faze me, but I had a choice between this or one with much cleaner welds, so I returned this one. Read more

Insanely sturdy and well made!

Best purchase I've made on Amazon. Im over 250. The lag bolts would tear the wall down before releasing or breaking. I paired this with a step ladder so I can do negative chest ups. Those hard to get to muscles needed for that exercise are on fire!! I don't give anything 5 stars lightly. This one earned it. Read more

Incorrect specification

Warning, though the ad states that this pull-up bar had a 500 pound capacity,, the paperwork that comes with it states "the maximum weight capacity of this unit is 330lbs". That is a significant difference. I bought this bar because it had a higher rating than some of it's competitors. I did install this unit anyway, and it looks to be well constructed, but I do feel somewhat misled. Read more

Exactly what I was looking for

The bar is very solidly made and welded and has textured areas for a good grip. The slots for the screws are nice and wide for flexibility in negotiating mounting options. Plus the price is lower than other similar ones on Amazon. Delivery was quick. Very happy with this bar. Read more

Wall-mounted metal pull-up bar for upper body strength training - great cardio

LouJanuary 13, 2026

I ordered this steel pull-up bar (brand: Papababe) to add upper body strength training to my daily exercise regimen after using my mini stepper (for lower body muscle toning) consistently for over a month. With this pull-up bar, I can improve my back strength and reduce muscle loss. I saw a review photo in this listing that shows an above-the-door mounting option. I thought to myself: that looks easy and I could do the same. Today, with my trusty stud finder in hand, I looked for the right spot to install this pull-up bar. I came up with nothing. First of all, the location of studs around our doors do not align with the bar's screw holes (ovals). Secondly, we have a rather low ceiling. Even if I could mount the bar above any of the doors, I will bump my head against the ceiling doing pull-ups. I retreated to the unfinished basement. The studs are either crooked or they do not run square or straight. I so wanted to hang my bar and get a taste of pulling up, I hadn't spent enough time for a better plan but proceeded. I installed it at the bottom of the stairwell (as shown). Afterwards, I did some pull-ups on it. It felt like a great cardio workout. There are a good number of exercises I can do on this pull-up bar. It functions well as expected. It is also a relatively inexpensive addition to my home gym. The pull-up bar feels strong and solidly made. The texture on the bar has sufficient friction to render a nice comfortable and secure grip. The lag screws are high quality, strong and easy to wrench in. The bar width is great and perfect but I think if the span between the screw holes on the rack could become smaller, say, under 32", finding studs to mount will be easier. Currently, the minimum distance between the lag screws is about 34". The installation is not difficult as long as you have these tools, for example, a power drill and a wrench ratchet. Just be sure you can find a proper location or spot in the house for mounting the pull-up bar before making the purchase. Right now, my pull-up bar has been improperly and unsafely installed. I must relocate it to another area in the basement so that no one is going to suffer head bumps - because of the loss of headroom at the bottom of the steps. Read more
