It is made of a super thick leather but does not feel heavy. The quality of this bag is great. It has the built in credit card-id pockets so I don't have to carry a wallet that I can lose. This the second one of these bags I have purchased. I purchased the first at a local department store in brown, and liked it so much that I ordered one in black online. The quality is excellent, and in size, it's big enough to carry the basic necessities but not big enough to weigh you down. I like, also, that it has 2 slip pockets which I have much use for. At $ 158.95, this is an excellent buy especially compared to the ridiculously overpriced 'designer' bags. The quality is on a par with all of them. I had to return this beautiful bag because the strap does not offer enough openings to allow for a variety of adjustable levels. For instance, if the strap is locked into the lowest opening it will hang long on a shorter small framed woman but it may work quite well for a taller woman. For me, being 5’1” with a small build, the bag hangs far too low. The other problem is that if you use the strap in that lowest opening there is no way to secure it in place because it lacks that tiny piece of leather designed to hold the lowest portion of the strap in place. Instead, it is left to hang awkwardly lending an unattractive look to the overall appearance. Read more
