I used this to acclimate my female betta into my aquarium without knowing whether she would kill the rest of my fish. It worked well but was definitely a temporary solution and not big enough to hold her permanently. I found that she was a little aggressive while in this breeder box probably because it was too small. She would flare a little and try to swim at fish that were near her box. After about half a week to a week I decided to add her to the rest of the tank. Luckily she got along with the rest of this fish and hasn't been aggressive. As far as breeder boxes go this seems to be a good value. It has good separators and design choices to protect baby fish. The suction cups attach really well to the glass sides of the aquarium and were even hard to get off at some points. Read more
I’ve had a few female bettas that got along great with my Corys, but one of them just doesn’t play well with others. While all my bettas have their own tanks, I was hoping that in a much larger setup my aggressive female would ignore the Corys. Unfortunately, she’s a bit of a prima donna—so separation was necessary! This setup works perfectly. The large size gives her plenty of space, and now everyone in the tank is happy. I don’t use the suction cups to keep it in place and just let it float freely without the lid, which works great for my needs. What I thought would be a temporary fix has turned into a permanent solution! Read more
I just put 4 babies in it. The container has small slots to allow some water flow and the platy fish (2 days old) can’t swim through (they already tried). The Lid is very flimsy and is a pain to remove and put back. The suction cups don’t seem to attach very well, so I will keep monitoring and update my review of the set up fails. Other than that, it has been an affordable box to keep and watch our babies while they grow. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Good price, seemingly good quality with firm plastic. You don't have to attach the additional panels which is great. I got this for my betta who cannot help himself from stealing all the food and I didn't want him to explode. Size medium is great for this so he can hang out relatively comfortably. He takes up slightly more room than it seems pictured. The delivery was also quick! I love that it just floats so I don't have to use the cups either. I just have the base compartment sitting at the top of my tank and he's able to breathe out of the top since he's a labyrinth fish. 5/5 for sure. Read more
The media could not be loaded. This works for the purpose I got it for - isolating sick/weak fish from others but still being in the same water/tank. The air portion on it to make it functional is extremely loud! Which makes me feel like it's not working properly. I got this style to avoid crappy suction cups. Read more
I got this for guppies. First off, the lid and the grate that goes in the bottom are awful to pick up. My fingers kept slipping off and I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to pick them up. My guppy mother had seven babies that we saved. I got her out and took out the grate to let them grow. This morning there were only four. I'm guessing they slipped out through the slots in the sides. I should have read the other * reviews. Sending it back. Read more
Sorry there's a review I just gave for another product. This one is excellent. The top goes upside down. Suction cups are great. My fish is hurt and the other fish kept hitting her. We put her in this high in the tank and it's so much better. Keeping it forever Read more
Its not as bad as you might think and it will do the job. The price is good. I didn't have to go anywhere, waste time and gas for this item. I've take some pictures that should satisfy your curiosity. My girls aren't being chased around the tank and they can distress and have their fry. Read more
