We used it for my 8 year old during our recent trip to Japan. She needed a small pack to carry her bottle and few other things and this pack turned out to be perfect fit for my daughter. It comfortably fit her and she wore it long hours throughout walking in Japan , disneyland and in and out of subways . It was comfortable, good sized pockets and lightweight. Very Happy and satisfied with this purchase. The zip pockets held pretty good, to zipping and unzipping multiple times throughout the day for every day the two weeks we spent in Japan. I have a serious need for a "purse replacement" that allows me to use both of my hands for my trekking poles (yes, I use them in parking lots, on walks, etc. - one broken leg with two surgeries is more than enough for a lifetime!) I had seen many configurations, and I even ordered the "medium" size of this one in orange, but it was not large enough. This one is just large enough (a tad bigger would be even better). So now I can go to the airport and have both hands free! You can attach the strap to the loop on either side, depending on which side is comfortable; you can also wear it in front or in back (I will be doing the front thing - no one sneaking out my wallet that way!) Also, my folding trekking poles can be attached to those same two bottom loops with long silicone zip ties and tie-dah! They go everywhere with me, but sometimes I only use one pole, so they must have a place to live when not in use! I have been practicing with it for a week, and it is working out very well. I use this bag daily and it's better than most, but not perfect. One of the zippers on the largest compartment didn't last a month, but the second one works so nothing is lost, it's just annoying. I love the pockets, it lets me put my phone/wallet where I can get it easily, and my keys in the back so I know where they are. I don't like having to dig for stuff. Not a huge fan of the 'water bottle inside' part and I'm finding that I *hate* having to put it over my shoulder, but that is a me problem not the bag's problem. Other than the zipper it is sturdy, and the color is spot on. I'm looking for a replacement but that is due to it not appealing to me as much as I thought. 2023 update: The bag has held up for 2 school years of use. I did find tgat one if the slim Starbucks tumblers will fit in the bottle pocket. The plastic bit on the zipper tail in the small mesh pocket on the strap poked through and had to be trimmed to keep it from snagging clothes. I have also had to repair the main zipper, as the zipper tab was where I had my whistle tethered, and it pulled the stitching loose, but it was an easy fix. I'm adding a fresh coat of waterproofing & its ready for another year of recesses! Original review: I have this as my supply bag for recess duty. I wear it "backwards" with the bag portion across my chest. It holds tissues, band aids, garbage baggies, spare masks, nitrile gloves and hand sanitizer. It also holds my hat, gloves, and scarf. The side pocket is too narrow for a bottle of water. It will hold the walkie talkie and protect it from the rain. I like it better than the fanny pack the school offered. The compartments with the mesh netting make keeping items organized easy. I wear a 3X tshirt and the chest strap fits just fine, even over my fleece coat. Read more

I purchased this for a cruise out of NYC where we planned on walking for a bit before getting on the ship. The size worked great. It’s missing internal compartments that close and a hook for keys which is fine due to the price. The main issue I had was over the 12 days I used it the stitching fell apart at the zipper. If you plan on using this for a tablet know that the stress will likely wear out the seams. Also the orange label is extremely bright. I used a sharpie to darken it.
