Yes, it’s painted black and it’s really severe without anything on it, but there’s no good reason this should be for men specifically. In fact, it looks amazing with women’s perfume bottles on it, maybe better than with boring square cologne bottles. (My photo does not do it justice, and please excuse my non-obsessive bottle arrangement skills. It’s the holidays and I can’t even.) The drawers are even the exact right size for holding lots of rollerballs, and of course they could hold jewelry or makeup, too. The style reminds me of an old roll top desk, and since it’s made from solid wood, it’s heavier than it looks. There’s not much friction holding the drawers in, so they pop out pretty easily and are easy to drop — watch out. The finish has a few flaws (see photo of scratches inside the front drawer) but the black makes them difficult to see, and adding eye-catching bottles to the top distracts from them further. I like the idea of the hidden storage compartment, but it’s definitely best suited for storing things you don’t need access to very often, since you have to move everything out of the storage sections above the hidden compartment to get to it. This thing is more versatile than expected, and it makes a very classy display despite seeming like a big black hunk of wood when it’s empty. Side effect: Having my perfumes nicely on display makes it easier to remember what I have and makes me want to use them more. Thumbs up. Read more

I picked this up after noticing my son had started collecting colognes and was storing them the same way I used to - buried on a deep bookshelf. That approach didn’t end well for a couple of bottles when I was his age, so I figured a proper organizer might help. This rack does a good job of keeping everything visible and easy to access. The tiered design lets you see each bottle instead of stacking them behind one another, which makes a big difference when the collection starts to grow. The wood construction looks clean and the stand feels stable on a dresser or shelf. The drawers and hidden storage are also a nice touch for watches, jewelry, or smaller items you don’t want sitting out. I’ll admit the purchase was partly selfish. Cologne isn’t exactly cheap these days, and my son hasn’t run nearly enough lemonade stands to fund the collection himself. This organizer helps keep everything protected, organized, and visible instead of hiding in the back of a shelf.
