Excellent pair of gloves -- with a caveat

Have to say, these are an excellent value and and excellent pair of gloves over all. They are thin, there's a lot of tactile feedback when using them, but they are still thick enough to offer good protection. These are just a hair thicker than the Mechanix gloves, but they are otherwise pretty similar. Not sure which would last longer with hard use, but they are both very good, high quality gloves. They are also very easy on the eyes and look clean and simple, something that seems to be hard to find in mechanics gloves these days. I haven't seen these in a lot of places so I was hesitant at first to try them, but they are great gloves and definitely worth picking up. I'm very happy with my purchase and may order another pair before long, just so I can save them for when these wear out. Update: I purchased two more pairs of these, and it appears the design has changed slightly. There is no longer a raised logo/patch on the back of the hands, replaced instead by cheaper lettering style that most other manufacturers are using. Additionally, both of the pairs I bought came out of the box with a very off-putting, almost medicinal odor. I would liken it to something like iodine or rubbing alcohol. I decided to let them air out in the open for a few days, in case they just absorbed some odor from the packaging (had this happen with other items in the summer months) but wow... never seen this before. I dropped 2-stars as result, but will put them back if the odor goes away. No way am I wearing them like this though, don't want whatever that is to get all over my skin. Yuck. Updated 2: So after a day or two of airing out in the garage, the gloves and packaging seem to no longer reek of whatever that odor was. I've put one of the 2-stars back, but I don't feel like giving a full 5-stars anymore. I shouldn't have to air the product out like that, and I still wonder why it ever stank that bad to begin with. I've never bought a pair of gloves that did this before and I'm still not sure I'd buy these again, but in fairness, the stink does come out at least. To each their own but that's my $.02 on it. Great Value

Have not used them yet to work on the car. (I don't want to get them greasy.) I have enjoyed using them for bike riding, and other light work around the garage. They provide good cushioning, protection and grip. They remind me of soccer goalies' gloves except the palms and fingers are more durable and not quite as sticky with more "feeling"/sensitivity.
