I bought this for my 4 legged granddaughter who lives with me. She had started scratching and rolling around with fleas. We put this on her and it started working a couple of hours. My girlfriend's dog has been itching a lot lately and, although we haven't found fleas yet, decided to get this to help her constant itching. It must have been fleas because she's been itching quite a bit less lately. It's worth the higher price point than I'd usually want to spend. It was a tad difficult to get to fit onto her neck, partially because I didn't want to touch the collar too much with my bare skin and also because she's wild and didn't know what we were doing. I could cry happy tears of joy right now. We fostered a cat for a week and she infected my poor dog with fleas! I did the expensive three month regimen and still found a few fleas after doing everything by the book. They didn't look very lively but they were still there and I was feeling very defeated. Instead of doing three more months I put this flea and tick collar on my large 85 pound Labmaraner. The collar fit her very thick neck and I still had extra length to cut off so this should fit most any size dog. The collar came in a nice metal tin with detailed instructions. There was no chemical smell that I could detect. I did wear disposable gloves when I put it on her just to be safe. She's been wearing this collar for around a month and it finally killed all of the fleas. There's been zero skin irritation which is very important to me. My dog tolerates the collar like it's not even there. I was desperate to find something that was both safe and effective and I finally found exactly what I needed with this extended release flea and tick collar. When this collar wears out I'm putting another one right on her. We take her for lots of walks on trails and in wooded areas and I frequently have to remove ticks from her. I was afraid of these collars because I bought one in the past that literally burned the hair and skin around my dog's neck within a few days. This collar didn't affect my dog in any negative way. She doesn't itch anymore and is so much happier. I will be buying this collar again and would recommend it to others. The quality is excellent and the price is very fair to eliminate fleas.
