As a physician, I wanted to have a home AED defibrillator that speaks you through the steps and reads the rhythm before shocking. This compact and well packaged item fits the bill. Now that I am in my 50's and have a family history of cardiac issues, I feel it is a good investment and peace of mind to own one, since if an arrhythmia happens at home, time is of the essence and in Los Angeles, the response time for 911 can be 45 minutes. The seller and Amazon were so wonderful when at first I thought the item did not arrive because the box got placed in a closet with other boxes meant for someone else, and so they sent me a replacement for free. I ended up finding the original product that was shipped to me by Amazon, and will return the replacement device unopened. I also purchased a separate steel wall box to store my defibrillator in so that it's easy to find in the time of need. Read more

The product seems great, luckily we didn't need it, however after 4 months it started beeping. I think it needs a new battery. I figured it would be under warranty since the battery lasts 4 years or 200 shocks. Now the problem is neither myself nor Amazon can get ahold of anyone at Philips. They keep saying "wrong department" and transfer me either back to their own dept to tell me again, or to a dead end line that hangs up on me. $1700 down the drain? Read more
