Peace of mind - the perfect lights for outside
I've had these installed in light fixtures at my front and back door for almost 4.5 years and they've been great. I just leave the light switches for those lights on and added a couple light switch cover plates inside so no one accidentally turns them off. It's great peace of mind knowing that I don't have to think about them and they just turn on when it starts getting dark and turn off in the morning when it gets light, super simple. I see many neighbors with their outside lights on all day either on purpose or by accident and I realize how convenient these are. I also like that they are 60w equivalent brightness, so not overly bright, and 2700k color temp, basically that of an incandescent bulb so they add a nice soft color outside and I'm not blasting my neighbors with super intense 5000k+ white light. These just provide reliable light coverage that I don't have to think about and I have an additional standard bright overhead light above my garage for the purpose of picking up actual motion close to the house. As far as any issues, it's been extremely minimal, so minimal that I've never once been annoyed with them and still believe they are 100% worth purchasing. I have two bulbs in operation and they've been the same two since I purchased them - about maybe 1-2 times a year at most one of them has not turned on at night. I just turn off the switch, wait a few seconds and turn it back on and it's good to go. I figure it's electronics inside, so no different than rebooting any device periodically. Only one time in the last 4+ years did one of them do the "flickering" some people mention. But same as before, just turned it off and back on and it's good to go. Read more
