I wanted the shaver that could last me the rest of my days(insert grain of salt). I was using a 20 year old Norelco. Nothing wrong with it, just aging & it was time to replace the heads. I wanted the best of the best. Current technologically advanced. I stopped short of the charging case. I didn't see much need for it, for my uses. The razor? It has been amazing. A quick & accurate shave. I have sensitive skin. So I set it to Sensitive & it hasn't bothered me at all. No irritation. It's so nice, I use it almost every day. Previously, I would shave every 3 days. My only gripe, & it's not a big one, is that the cutter is an attachment. It easily installs. We'll see if there's any long term Wear with that. I have tried MANY electric shavers but have never found one that could shave a close as a hand razor. Especially on the neck. I always went back over my neck area with a hand shaver to prevent shirt collars from snagging neck hairs missed by the electric razor. This razor is SUPER SMOOTH and cuts the hair so close you can not see even a stubble. Closer than any hand razor. Admittedly it is the most expensive razor I have ever bought but after the first shave I say BRAVO! Worth every penny. I wish the nose/ear trimmer was included but looks like that is in my future purchases. Lastly, I almost did not buy this product due to the INCORRECT review left by Dennis. The unit DOES HAVE a pop up cleaning head. Not sure if Dennis missed it or is reviewing a different razor. The travel case is fine for traveling and it is molded in a way that a cap for the head is UNNEEDED. I got this as a replacement for my disabled brother's 10 year old Norelco that finally died. He's mostly paralyed in his hands/fingers & wishes it weren't quite so sleek. It's a bit hard for him to hold on to, so he uses more pressure against his face. He manages. He really loves to pop-up blade assemply that doesn't come off; great upgrade & eady to clean! He just had to play with the power & light settings in the app which shortened the duration of the charge, significantly. He was ready to return it, but I talked him into restoring the factory settings. Now the charge time is adequate for him to complete a full shave, a bit more than an hour on I single charge. I bought the Philips Norelco Shaver i9000 Prestige Ultra because the Philips Norelco shaver that I bought about 3 years ago could no longer be charged. My new shaver did not have a display that worked. - the display was blank. The shaver itself worked. Philips Norelco offered to send me a mailer to return the shaver for examination, but this was not tenable for me since I needed a shaver every day. I asked for a new shaver to be sent to me in light of the circumstances, and THEN I would return the defective shaver and that that as “their process”. This is a replacement for my 20yr old Norelco. First, I must say that this shaver is incredible. What a wonderful close, smooth shave. I'm messmerized by it. Can't stop shaving. The reason for thee stars is the charging design. Can you imagine a world class company designing a plug in charger??? This is a new model 2025 and they don't have a wireless charging stand. You have to ensure that the charging stand prongs fit into the razor and it is wobbly as hell. So unsturdy, I'm afraid this will be the first thing to break. Not only that but if you travel with the razor you have to use their proprietary cord. Why didn't they just make it a standard usb-c style connection? A bit rediculous if you ask me. And finally their top of the line and highest price razor doesn't come with an adapter. Thats extra. I hope Norelco reads this and makes these necessary improvements. Read more
