The pockets are nice for stowing things, though they fell out of some locations when folding it up so we tried to mostly use other spots when folding up. Love the way it folds up and keeps most things right there ready to go again. It fit fine on his lap and around our car seat though I don't think he liked having to latch the straps each time we got back into the car and on the ride back he didn't want it. It did cover his cup holder, and there is one on the side of the tray but it would sit rather heavy and would've been a bit tight for him to get it in and out on his own so we used it for his stuffie. Came with several fun activities that we supplemented. The tray was a fantastic size that allowed for so many activities - coloring, magnetic blocks, tablet, could be used to eat on with a nice wipeable surface. The Pillani kids travel tray was a hit with our grandson on a 20-hour car ride last year. It contained his snacks to keep the car clean, held a good deal of art supplies, and the plastic coating allowed for hours of artwork. The included dry-erase marker set was a bonus. I bought this for my son for a long road trip when he was 5 1/2 years old. I wish I had actually bought it for him sooner. He was always good about keeping things clean and not putting markers on anything in the house. This kept him so busy with drawing and coloring in the car. He is now eight and still loves using it. As we were preparing for a 13 hour car ride with a 5 and 3 year old I was looking for an alternative to the tablets. I ordered these in hopes that we could use them for activities such as drawing, coloring, writing and even playing with toys without the worry of anything falling to the floor or between the seats. We’re on hour 12 of our car ride and I HAVE to say. They’ve been using these trays far more than the tablets. Although we have used tablets and they rested in the sturdy top of the tray, they were happy to go back to activities without the tablet when it was time! They’re great for meals and snacks too keeping everything clean and easily wipable! I am NOT a paid person to review this product and rarely review anything but this product and company deserve it! Its functionality is perfectly thought out as well. It fits well around the car seat, tightens down and when don fold up easily with everything in it and even has a convienent shoulder strap for easy transport.
