Poor adjustability and ultimately does not last. Initially, the flame set to full was huge, but turned down more than just a touch, and the flame would be tiny - not good for pipe lighting. Seemed to use a LOT of Butane. In a matter of a few weeks, the flame (set to full, with a fresh fill, after purging the tank) would be very small, and sometimes there would be fire inside the chamber. It appears the lighter leaks between the fuel tank and the outlet. I can get more life out of one $3 BIC pipe lighter. Would not recommend. Read more
I smoke pipe heavily. For many years I depended on Bic lighters. I could find nothing better. The second to last ones I bought in bulk weren't as good. The last one's terrible, small flame and running empty quickly. I've tried some other brands of disposable and refillable recently. Half of them I tossed immediately. Hard to light or not at all. I tried this one. Took a bit to get used to and didn't work real good at first. After the second refill, slightly adjusting the flame and gotten used to, it has settled in to a consistent flame and lights well. It feels good and substantial. I'll be ordering another one. Just got this lighter. Feels solid in the hand. Filled up easily. Lights on the first click almost every time. Seems well made, but time will tell for a lighter that's under $20. Only came with 2 pipe tools instead of the usual 3 on these kinds of pipe lighters. For some reason it comes in a plastic bag instead of a box. A minor issue, but not cool if you're giving it as a gift. Read more
I've not owned too many lights, but this one is now my favorite. It looks good, feels solid, has a good weight, good adjustment, doesn't rattle, the pipe tool clicks into closed position. Ill buy it again in a blink when this one inevitably gets "misplaced" XD. Read more
