So, I'm giving this a five-star review because it works perfectly for what I need. I read the reviews and my coatrack had the same weird issues of the pegs not sitting correctly. There were only seven holes, not eight, and one was upside down. Overall, sturdy, nice piece. I would suggest to the company: one, make the directions a bit clearer and maybe add numbered stickers to your directions. It was a toss-up which ones were which. This rack is easy to put together by following the instructions, which are fairly clear. Once assembled this one we received was a bit crooked vertically but not enough to be a problem. The base unit has a slight bow in it resulting in a wobbly stance. Putting winter jackets/coats on it requires a bit of thought so it don't tip over. Considering the low price, it does the job and holds a fair amount of outer wear. Appearance is good and the small shelf is very handy. Quality is in line with the low price. Yes, I would recommend it as a short term solution but keeping in mind its limitations. Read more

Flimsy garbage. Unless you plan on just using this for one small coat, don't expect it to stay upright. The side table makes it unbalanced so it's pretty much useless at holding up multiple coats. Broke a month into use after I made the mistake of putting a hoodie and a winter jacket on it at the same time and it tipped over. I was looking for a coat rack that didn'tlook cheap. This is a great product. It has several hooks for coats, jackets and hats. It has a small shelf for small items. The base has an opening large enough that you can put a basket to hold items you might grab on your way out the door. It was very easy to assemble. Not only is it functional but also sturdy. This coat rack was so easy to put together! It was very well packaged! However, almost all of the pieces were either dinged, discolored, chipped, different color wood on the poles, I was also missing one of the Allen wrenches, but the one that I did get provided with was functional for putting the screws in. I was quite disappointed with the lack of uniform color and all of the obvious chips and even the table had a little split in the wood about 3 in long. It was stained over top of the chips in the base and the table part, so that tells me that it was stained in spite of the chips in the wood. Not very happy about that either. However, it is still functionable. In my area it's too hard to send things back so I'll deal with it. The other thing I would like to mention is I did contact the company. I thought it was a little bit of a rigmarole, but in the end they did decide to give me a partial refund. So I accept that and I'm fine. But I just think that people should know that for the price of this I think it should be a little bit more nicer looking than what I received. Amendment: The seller decided to give me a full refund.
