Try this. Reset Video Output If you are changing cables or cannot see an image on the screen, you may need to reset the video output to default settings. To reset the video output: While the PS3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the PS3 beeps a second time (approximately 5 seconds), then release it. The PS3 will power up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor). I too had a black screen and no sound from my super slim when I got these cables. Thought the worst, then I found the the above solution and Presto! Works like a champ. The problem was my ps3 was configured for HDMI out. I was was moving it to an older tv, but the ps3 didn't auto detect. Read more

After many unsuccessful attempts at locating the source of an obnoxious buzz from our stereo system when using our PlayStation 3, I finally discovered about half of the pins in the av cable were missing! I ordered this cable and after just a couple of days the package came and I plugged this in. It worked! And the buzz was finally gone! Although the cable isn't the most flexible and doesn't feel like the highest quality money can buy, why spend more when this cable performs it's functions perfectly? There is no drop in quality in audio or video and as this cord will be stationary, just sitting there plugged in behind a TV, it doesn't need to be extremely flexible. I don't know how many products use this cable but it works with my PlayStation 3 just fine Read more
Like the title says. We got a PS3 from a friend but he wouldn't give us the tv too. So we now have a useless PS3 because we have a dinosaur of a tv. Where does one go when they need something out of the ordinary....Amazon. They didn't disappoint. Cable is fairly priced, good quality, and shipped quickly. We were playing in no time. Read more
This worked fine, although it separated a bit from the plug and I can see the wires a little, after not much usage. We didn't use it very often/long, as I got an HD TV and now use an HDMI cable with the PS3. At the time we got this, though, it was really helpful, because otherwise we had to hook it up on an HD TV that was rarely not in use by TV watchers. Read more
got a second hand PS3 - came with HDMI cable only, got it to work once but then just not connection for video. Tried everything, even swapped out the HDMI from our blueray which is working still. Finally looked for an AV cable, this one seams to be the least expensive with the best rating so gave it a shot. No frills here, it came in bulk packaging and plastic shrink wrap but it works. Quick hook up to the back of the PS3 and then to the TV's AV point and the kids are playing games again. Read more
Work as intended. The people complaining that it doesn't work because the lack of connections, don't know how to work a ps3. In order to get video through AV after using HDMI, you'll need to turn on the ps3 and hold the power botton until you hear a second beep. That will reset the video output to AV. To get audio, you go to the ps3 settings and configure the audio output. I bought this cable to output the audio from and use a HDMI for video, however, I recently went to visit family that didn't have a HDMI compatible TV, and was able to use the cable as video output as well. Good cable for the price. Read more
I received this ps3 av cable, that was obviously defective before i even tried to use it, the yellow male video connector still had melted plastic around the metal connector, as well as more covering the circular part of the connector, which also looked to be smashed in, not fush or even at all, if it would have been looked at for even a second by whomever packaged it, it should have been noticed as it was not in it's own plastic bag, or anything else to block your vision of the defect. the excess melted plastic comes off with relative ease, but the connector still does not work, however the sound does. Might want to spare another second for some quality assurance before shipping out obviously defective merchandise. Read more
