Works perfect, no driver fiddling for Windows 10

Works great on my Dell XPS 15 on both the USB A-style and C-style ports. No driver download needed on Windows 10. One great thing about this product is that it comes with connector cables for either a USB 3.0 type A port (the typical rectangular USB port) or a USB type C port (the small oval reversable connector). This is really handy, and makes it work with almost any laptop in any situation. I got a full 1000 megabit/s connection over the Ethernet port, and at least 2000 mb/s over the USB ports (I think I was limited by my flash drive there). I've had issues with other USB 3.0 hubs giving interference on other 2.4 Ghz devices like bluetooth or wireless mouse dongles, but I saw none of that here even when making huge full-speed transfers. Perhaps the aluminum chassis helps? A great laptop companion at a solid price. And if anything goes wrong, Plugable is a solid American company with US customer support technicians. Check out their responses to bad reviews; they really try to fix any problems people might have. Worth the extra couple bucks compared to some random Chinese company. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed. Read more

Great gigabit NIC along with 3-port USB 3.0 switch

I primarily needed a USB gigabit ethernet adapter. USB 3.0 hub was just an add-on bonus for me. My laptop has only one USB 3.0 port so this is really handy when connecting two USB 3.0 devices (mostly external drives). The ethernet and the USB hub were detected right away. The device was detected out of the box. What I really loved about this company (i.e. "Pluggable") is that before I even got this little device, I got an email from Pluggable after they shipped the device stating that there was an updated driver that I could download and install before even getting the device. This was really thoughtful of them to reach out to their new customers so their out-of-the-box experience is not ruined by some driver incompatibility. Although they sent me the updated driver, I opted to wait and get the device so I could connect and test it without first updating the driver. It just works out of the box, without any issues. I tested this on MacBook Air running Mac OS X Yosemite and Lenovo Yoga 13 running Windows 8.1. Read more

Appreciate the functionality and USB-C option

Well, I would give it 5 stars but using USB-A on 5gps port, I only got 333Mbps. When I switched to USB-C and plugged into my thunderbolt port, I got 890Mbps. So, I'm happy I paid extra for the Optional 3 port hub and dual USB cable setup. I think it should get better performance on the USB-A. BTW, I'm using a brand new Lenovo Legion 7i that was supposed to have physical LAN port like my previous Legion, but it does not. Read more

Works great, but will not power two external USB HDD's with a MS SP2!

Hopped on this as soon as it came out for my Surface Pro 2. Worked great right out the box. Build quality is top notch, as expected from Plugable! I had already pre-installed the latest DisplayLink drivers as I also use a UD-3000 dock along with a USB3-HUB4AC1 while using the SP2 at work, so as you can tell, I'm a huge Plugable fan. Right out the box it worked great! However, while using this hub with the SP2, you CANNOT spin up two external USB 3.0 HDD's, and Plugable does not include a way to provide external power to the hub. I even tried to get the most juice to the USB ports by unplugging the LAN cable and disabling the NIC in Device Manager, and also plugging the SP2 up to it's A/C adapter. However, it still would not spin the second drive up. Instead, I'll have to resort to a USB splitter cable with a USB AC>DC adapter in order to spin up the second drive. YMMV, I'm sure the device the hub is plugged into is the determining factor on how many amps you will get out of the HUB, so this is probably more of a limitation with the Surface Pro 2 than it is with the hub. Support this brand

Sleek adapter works great. Rf45 jack solid. We support so many brands with our purchases. Every now and again we do it for a funny ad. Every now and again we do it because we want a company to succeed. Pluggable deserves your money. They make sleek product that either works out of the box or has a website to drivers ON A TAG ON TAG ON DEVICE. This is a sign. When you see that, you know the company is thinking about users. And should that fail, support emails get very supportive quickly. Other companies either don't reply for a week, or at all, or you might get part way to a solution, but Pluggable doesn't stop. It took several emails and some test software to determine what was going on with my machine. And get this, maybe I don't even need the device now. So I basically got $150 in laptop service/advice including their tools which I downloaded and ran, which fixed the error, because my machine wasn't running their device. I'd say fixing my laptop exceeds the expectations of product support. Read more

Works as advertised, Perfect for my needs

It's curious that I need exactly 3 temporary USB ports and wired ethernet for my MacBook Air (2011), and on a whim I decide to poke around which led me to this product. I was wondering if the "bus powered" part was going to be a problem. It is not a problem. I can run 3 USB thumb drives and wired ethernet, it works great. Just plug it in and go. Well almost, I had to do initial config for the wired ethernet connection but that's a Mac thing. On my MacBook Air model, it won't come up correctly if I plug it into the USB port on the right side. I haven't looked this up but that port is either not USB3.0, OR it is not power-rated for USB3.0. However, the left side port that sits right next to the charging port works just fine, so if all you MBA owners out there think you got a faulty product, be like Beft and go to the left (for you Dr. Suess fans) ... Perfect for my needs. Read more

Plug and Play and very well made

I needed a hub for my MS Surface Pro 3 to connect to a second portable monitor and to a LAN using an ethernet cable. This unit came with a superspeed USB cable. This worked right out of the box and as a bonus there's a USB-C cable in case I want to connect my Samsung phone. Build quality is nothing short of excellent, and the unit is tiny. Makes working remotely easy. Great product! Read more
