Love mine.
This is my second one, the first one got melted (my fault) when it got left on the grill. I love that I can place the probe into the piece of meat and cook it and not have to stand watch constantly checking for it to be done. I have bought one for other family members for Christmas gifts and they all loved it Read more

Check that it works before you need it!
I use this one day a year, Thanksgiving. It has worked for the past 3 years; today the select won't allow me to select the meat and the probe is reading HHH. I keep the unit off and the batteries out when not in use. Note to self; always check a few days ahead to ensure your thermometer is working. I learned my lesson, and I don't think I'll replace this with another Polder. (It seemed to work - while it was working, but I'd like something that works more than 3 times.) Read more
Preset is nice
Nice little thermometer. Easy to use. Optional alarm is nice when you don’t want it ringing. Like that I can set my own temperature - may others only have presets. Read more
Hard to program
If you want to use preset temperatures for various meats - this thermometer is for you. If you want to cook to a different temperature than the presets, this thermometer is frustrating. For example, I cook toffee to 300F so I have to program it. The program feature is there but it is not intuitive. It was so cheap I kept it because it has a decent probe, but I will continue to use the old fashioned Polders with buttons. Those are totally intuitive. Read more
