It's a pop socket. It sticks, it pops. Decent material. Had one just like this for years on my old phone case, and never had problems. I like the matte color and texture. Super easy to put on. I’ve had PopSockets for years on my phones and love using them. I recently upgraded to an iPhone 17 pro and wanted another PopSocket being they are easy to use. I was so happy that I found this one! I didn’t want to have it be stuck to my phone like they previously had been. This one allows me to keep it on when I want and take it off when I need it off. The magnet is super strong and I feel secure using it. I was nervous that my phone would fall and it wouldn’t feel safe but those worries are gone. I also really like that it has the ability to be a kickstand and hold my phone up. I’ve used it when I’m baking and following a new recipe. It is more expensive than other ring holders but it’s exactly what I wanted. I’m not really a phone grip person but every now and then I’ll get a wild hair to try a new accessory. This would be the 3rd phone grip that I’ve tried over the last year with different phones and I will say this is a win for me. The magnet strength on this thing is incredible. It withstands my shake test with my iPhone 17 pro max and S25 Ultra. I love how PopSocket designed it to be so thin yet still comfortable and sturdy. It’s worth the money. Makes it easy to hold my phone and not drop it as often. Cute design with subtle visuals and a fun smooth but bumpy texture. Easy to stick to any phone or phone case wherever you want it. I put it right in the middle of a black phone case and now I can find my phone on any color surface easily! It will never ever come unstuck from this phone case. I love this! It is textured and so satisfying to play with if you are a texture person. As a pop socket- this is great!! The magnet is so strong I’m definitely not worried about it falling off. In fact that’s why it only has 4 and not 5 stars 😅 it’s tooo strong. I bought this specifically so I could wirelessly charge but I have to use a butter knife to pry it off in order to wirelessly charge it. It’s not really worth all that work or if I don’t have access to something that could pry it then I can’t get it off at all so I just leave it and bought some more regular chargers 🤷‍♀️. I am now on my 4th Popsocket Phone Grip for Magsafe. I'm so used to using a Popsocket, I find it awkward to hold a phone without it attached to the phone or the phone case. It's the best and easiest way to securely hold a phone with one hand without holding it in a death grip to avoid accidentally dropping it. But it's not perfect. It comes with adhesive-backed metal rings to attach to back of a cellphone case on which the Popsocket attaches. However, the adhesive of the Popsocket supplied rings suck and they don't stick very well to some phone cases, particularly the ones with high silicone content. However, that's not a big issue as the ESR Magsafe compatible metal rings are thicker and comes with a higher quality adhesive backing which pretty much glues itself permanently to every type of phone case. The ESR rings are wonderful, the Popsockets rings not so much. As for actual Popsocket, they're good until they're not. The collapsible socket which provides a place for your fingers to grasp onto is made of a flexible and durable plastic that holds up well, for the most part. At the bottom of the socket base there is a 1/4" hole that wraps around a hard plastic flanged post attached to the magnetic base. The Popsocket magnet is very strong. See the attached photo. The problem that I've encountered in 3 of the 4 magnetic Popsockets is that the magnet is a bit too strong. When you need to remove the Popsocket from cellphone case using a Magsafe metal ring, it often takes a mighty tug to pull them apart. 3 times I've managed to pull the socket piece completely off the magnet base. When that happens, the Popsocket is no longer usable. The problem is that the force required to pull the magnet off the phone exceeds the strength of the flexible plastic that wraps around the flange. The Popsockets company might consider dialing down the magnet strength or provide some type of mechanical means of separating the Popsocket magnet from the metal ring on the phone case as opposed to yanking on the socket. There are ways of placing the socket back onto the flange, but it's not simple for those who are not mechanically inclined. There are videos on YouTube that provide instructions on how to reassemble separated Popsockets. Personally, I don't pull on the socket to remove the Popsocket from a phone. I instead try to hook the Popsockets magnetic base and slide it off the metal ring which breaks the magnetic attraction. Popsockets is a wonderful device and probably worthy of a 5 score, but the fact that I've broken 3 of the Magsafe Pop Grips in less than a year doesn't speak well for the product.
