I received this unit within three days of ordering, so shipping was quick and reliable. Setup however, is definitely more of a hands-on process than the manual suggests. The instructions are vague, and the diagrams aren’t very clear. I had to snap off sections of the sliding window piece to get it to fit properly in my window without covering the exhaust outlet, but once I got it in, everything worked fine. One thing to note: I had to press the reset button on the power cord before the unit would turn on —easy fix, but not mentioned in the instructions. Once it’s up and running, though? It’s awesome. Operating the unit is simple, the controls are intuitive, and it comes with a remote (just bring your own AAA batteries). The design is sleek, and it offers cooling, fan, and dehumidifier modes. Even just running on high fan + cooling at 61°F for 20 minutes made a noticeable drop in room temperature. I’ve been using box fans to help circulate the air throughout my space, and it’s helped tremendously during a heat wave while my central AC is down. The unit is also quieter than most portable ACs I’ve used, which I really appreciate. My only gripe is with the drainage port—it’s located all the way at the bottom of the unit, which makes draining after using the dehumidifier mode a little awkward. One thing to keep in mind: while it advertises as 10,000 BTU, the actual cooling capacity (DOE/SACC rating) is closer to 7,000 BTU, which is pretty typical for portable ACs due to how they’re tested. It still performs well in small to medium rooms and holds its own, especially for the price. Read more
We’ve been struggling to stay comfortable during this intense heat wave, and this portable air conditioner has been a total game-changer. From the moment we turned it on, it started cooling the room quickly and efficiently. It’s surprisingly powerful for its size and does a fantastic job at maintaining a consistent, refreshing temperature—especially in rooms that tend to get hot and stuffy. The setup was straightforward, and it’s easy to move around, so we can cool different areas of the house as needed. It’s also quieter than we expected, which is a big plus since we can run it while sleeping or watching TV without being disturbed. Overall, we’re extremely happy with this purchase. If you’re battling the heat and looking for a reliable, portable cooling solution, this is definitely worth it. Highly recommended! Read more
Hey. Once you realize that you can't run one of these through a skinny extension cord (It'll work fine for about 2 minutes, then 'clunk', the compressor stops and won't turn back on BTW) then they very much work flawlessly. I bought the original one thinking it had a problem, wrong... did a return for it and they sent a replacement... Gracious thoughts sent Amazons direction because they sent my replacement before I returned the 1st one. In the meantime though, I discovered that the problem was on my end and not theirs due to the extension cord fiasco. I believe that I'm actually going to keep them both now because they really are THAT good. Absolutely perfect and very cold. One is for my 20 foot camper and the other works great in a bedroom in the house. A great value for 250 and it's reasonably quiet especially when on 'Night Mode'. Do yourself a favor and hook the continuous drain hose to the bottom outlet because it'll save you from having to manually drain it pretty often. Read more
I don't normally give bad reviews, but I have to say I am extremely disappointed in this unit. 1. The exhaust hose is difficult to attach. The first issue I ran into is as others have said, the slide bar for the window was too large for my narrower windows so I had to go have 3 inches cut off so that it would fit. 2. The exhaust hose is difficult to attach. The instructions say to twist in place but it is not threaded so that doesn't work. I tried taping it with duct tape but the amount of heat coming out of the back of the unit is too hot and duct tape will not hold. I had to go to the hardware store to get aluminum tape that is made for duct work in order to get it to hold in place. 3. The vent flaps while they can be adjusted, if you use the remote to turn the unit on the flaps only come up halfway pointing the airflow to the floor. You can manually adjust them to push the vent up a bit, but as soon as you use the remote again they go back to their original state. I wish I had bought a different one but since I already cut the slide piece to fit returning it is not an option. While the unit does blow cold air now, all in all it isn't worth the price and hassle trying to get it to work effectively. Read more
Received this AC unit just in time for the summer. It cools my one bedroom apartment Pros: portable with wheels, very good air quality, no more dry eyes, throat or nasal passages. Cools bedroom in short amount of time. Cons: exhaust hose not stable enough, easily detaches with the slightest movement. Gaps around exhaust hose leading out the window, you will need to duck tape to prevent outside air leaks and insects. I have a vertical slide window and there are gaps that need to be tape. The company upgraded the unit but they seriously need to upgrade the exhaust hose to fit more snug at both ends. Every time I made an adjustment to the hose it kept popping out at both ends, that was a struggle for me. Other than the unit works perfectly fine. Second photo shows gap in vertical window. I gave it four stars because of hose as state above in my comment. Read more
