welding for a very long time and i am blown away at how good this runs! i was doubting it and it definitely proved me wrong. i love how its very easy to weld in places that are hard to get coz the welding needle is much longer than a regular welding machine. welds well even 1/4" metal.. It's incredibly light so I can easily carry it in my tool bag wherever i go. Adjusting the amperage is super easy with the knob and the digital display gives a clear real time reading, making it easy to weld different material & thicknesses. In actual use, the hot start and arc force features make welding smoother with almost no sticking. I used welding multiple rods. I bought this handheld welder as a gift for my hubby and he loves it. He is a beginner and was a little hesitant at first but once he got started he was extremely happy with how easy it is to use. It’s light and compact so it handles really well. It even comes with welding rods so he could get his first practice welds done right out of the box. He said his welds felt really clean and solid. So I finally grabbed a small welder, been meaning to get one for a while since every now and then I run into a little project that needs welding. I’m no pro, just a DIY guy who’s tried welding a couple times before, so I didn’t want some giant complicated thing that makes me feel like I need a degree to turn it on. Fired it up on some scrap metal right out of the box, and not gonna lie, it was kinda fun. Arc starts smooth, rods don’t stick, and I didn’t manage to burn anything important (always a plus). The knob for adjusting the current is super easy, just twist it and that’s basically it. Heat didn’t get out of hand, even after a few quick runs, so it doesn’t feel like it’s going to melt itself on me. It comes with some rods, a clamp, basic gloves, mask -basically everything you need. Case holds it all, which is nice because my garage is already a big mess. Even the shipping box surprised me, solid and decent looking, not some cheap crap. Lightweight enough to grab and move, but still packs enough punch for small fixes, fence repairs, random bits of scrap metal- you get the idea. For someone like me, just messing around in the garage, this little welder is perfect. Easy to grab, easy to use, and I don’t have to run to a shop every time something pops up.
