I've bought multiple pairs in different weights (12s and 15s) of these excellent standard hex dumbbells. Nothing negative to say about them. But you might want to take note of my comments below about handle diameters and pricing. Pros: No smell (reviews of other brands of the same style hex dumbbells often complain about the chemical smell; if you do notice such a smell try wiping them down with a silicon-based lubricant like WD-40 with Silicon, which I've found removes the odor in other brands) Slightly larger diameter in middle of handle for better grip, as found in all high quality hex dumbbells High quality materials Attractive assortment of colors, if that matters to you Note: Handle diameters - these are slightly smaller for lower weight sets, in my case comparing this brand's 12 pound and 15 pound dumbbells of this same color (grey). Not certain, but my guess is that's pretty standard across brands, since most likely lower weights tend to be used by smaller people and bigger people can still easily grip lighter weights even with the slightly smaller diameter handles. In my case, I wear size Large gloves and while the slightly larger handle diameter of the 15 pounders was a bit more comfortable, the 12 pounders were still fine. And if need be you can always wrap the handles with a bit of flexible white packing foam to create a larger diameter grip. Prices - this brand's same weight hex dumbbell sets of different colors vary widely in price and are differentially discounted at certain times as well. So if you're not picky about color check the prices of the same weight sets across all the available colors, and if you're not in a rush you might want to monitor the prices for occasional big discounts on various colors, like I did. I'm a 64 year young woman who has never had upper body strength and my arms are so flabby, I needed something to get my arms stronger. Now I'm not a body builder type and really never lifted anything other than my kids and grandkids! When I went to order them I was going to get the 15 pound weights but my husband said they would be too much for me (and he was right).I got these 10 pounders and at first I could barely lift one of them. The weights are very solid and heavy but that's what I was looking for. Another deal sealer was the price, in the stores they were asking a lot more for one, than I paid for both. Now about 5 weeks into them, I can do 5 sets of 25 lifts per routine! This is awesome and I'd recommend these to anyone, old or young who want to get themselves in shape. Not the best packaging but they arrived without any damage. Expect a damaged outer box,etc. Nice quality, built well, seem solid. I purchased these due to the no cancer warning label and the claim the are safer to use. All of the other black rubber dumbells have a super strong odor, these only have a slight odor. I am sensitive to certain smells myself, so I used gloves and disinfectant lemon wipes to clean both dumbbells. I now have them on my window seal with it opened, to air out any remaining smell. When these dumbells get too light, I will upgrade to a heavier set, SAME BRAND. I am happy with my purchase, thank you. Read more
I ordered a pair of gray 5s and 8 lbs. Both were being delivered the same day. Got my 5 pounders but was told the 8s were "undeliverable" and a refund was coming. Haven't seen my refund, but I'd rather have the weights instead. So two stars given until I see a refund. I run/own a commercial gym in the area and never had a problem received dumbbells before. I thought I'd try some different colors for the hex style. Quality appears to be that of the Walmart brand hex, rubber is close to a hard plastic and not as spongy as York or Rogue brands. I don't suggest throwing them down a lot without wear and tear showing up pretty quickly. I'll amend my rating when I receive the 8 pounders I was told "undeliverable." Just resend a pair of 8s and all is good. Update I: Received a refund for the eight pounders, so I added a star. I went through the trouble of reordering the 8s again, I'll add another star when I receive them. Update II: I don't know if this is just an unlucky set of 8s or what, my 2nd attempt at ordering was once again halted but this time told "package was damaged in transit." I did however order a pair of 15 pounders along with the 8s and they have now been delivered. I like these DB enough to order more so I'll add a 4th star but you can be sure I'll be back if I don't get my 8s or a refund. Read more

Already have a large dumbbell set. After major surgery & rehab I found I needed a light 5 pound set I didn't have for some exercises. These are my new favorite. Great grip & solid construction. If I had to build a new complete set, this would be my first choice. Perfect for apt. workouts. They don't roll & are completely silent.
