Learning to use the potty is a huge, mysterious challenge for toddlers and one that can't be forced to conform to the parents' time frame. Each kid is on his/her/their own potty journey (hee hee), and this book acknowledges that. It's fantastic that the authors have empathetically shown each stage of potty readiness as well as some of the ways parents can be supportive. There just isn't any other book out there that does this. I love this whole series. Each book is an unbelievable gem that parents and toddlers love to read together. A set of the first three Terrific Toddlers books has been a key part of every baby gift I've given since they came out and now that there are three more, a set of six will absolutely be going out to every set of new parents I know! Thank you, authors, for adding three more must-haves to the series. Read more

New addition to the Terrific Toddler series of the American Psychological Association. This story introduces toddlers to independent toileting. Explicitly addresses common fears (the flushing sound, falling in, getting sucked down, having other parts of your body fall out) in a way which is unlikely to create anxiety. Short sentences. Realistic illustrations. Read more

Our 2 year old loves this book series! We have Boo-Boo, Bye-Bye, Time to Go, Grocery Store, Haircut and now Potty! We often find ourselves repeating lines from the book in tough situations. The familiarity focuses our toddler and she more quickly, willingly, and sometimes even happily, adjusts to the situation. Read more

Silverbush and Zeavin continue to dazzle with their command of just how a toddler's mind works. Taking the abstract and framing it is simple concrete terms, with usable guidance for parents. AND the illustrations are perfect! Read more

My two year old would have me read her this book over and over and over. It is a simple and non-judgemental story about how all toddlers pee and poop. Some are in diapers, some are learning to use the potty. We love this whole series and we loaned several books to our daycare - the provider said that the books were a hit with all the kids even the older ones (4 or 5 years old). Read more
