I originally started potty training my son with a small toddler toilet, thinking it would be the best route. While that method works for many, it didn’t work well for him, and I was getting desperate to try something different. That’s when I decided to try this seat, and I’m so thankful I did. Cleanup is much easier since he’s going directly into the toilet, and the best part is that he actually enjoys going potty now. It may not work the same for everyone, but my advice is to keep trying different options until your child is comfortable. This seat has several great features. It’s easy to clean, and I love that it doubles as a step ladder for the sink. Assembly was simple, and once the plastic nuts and bolts are tightened, it feels pretty sturdy. My son can even move it around on his own, which makes him feel more independent. We’ve been using it for about a month now and it has held up well. The only real challenges are that it can be a little tricky for him to climb up and turn around, and occasionally when he goes pee, it leaks through the slot where the seat rests on the toilet. I do wish the shield extended a little lower, but adjusting his aim usually solves the problem. Cleaning has been straightforward. On one occasion, when pee got all over it, I just placed the whole thing in the shower, rinsed it off, and let it air dry, it was quick and easy. I also ordered a pee shield to help reduce the leaking issue, though I think it’s more about positioning. Overall, this seat feels safe, fits well on my oval toilet, and gives my son the confidence and excitement to use the potty on his own.
