Initially, I was put off by the price tag of this machine. Paying so much for a piece of fitness equipment was something I'd never considered before, especially when I can go jogging or go to the gym for next-to-nothing. But a friend of mine bought a My3 model and had been bugging me to come try it. Finally I did, and I was completely blown away! This machine absolutely does what the manufacturer says it does, making your muscles contract and giving you the most amazing workout. I was immediately convinced that I needed to have a Power Plate in my own home, but first I did a lot of research on the Power Plate web site about all the benefits - like how it increases your bone density, helps with circulation and hormones, etc. And after looking at all the different models, I decided I really wouldn't be happy with a My3 for very long, so I had to go with the My5. The surface that you stand on is bigger so it's a lot easier to do more types of exercises. And I like that I can adjust the frequency of the vibration for when my strength improves. And that the My5 comes with a remote so you don't always have to be right next to the console to start a new set. I've had my My5 for a month now and couldn't be happier. I was in good shape before, but I'm on my way to being in great shape thanks to this machine. You will not regret buying this machine! Read more
I was skeptical about this really working. I researched it and also bought a MY3. The MY3 is too small for many of the exercises you will want to do, so I took it back. However this model is just big enough for almost all of the exercises. For some of them you would want the commercial model. The nice thing about this one is that it makes it easier to select the settings for a particular activity and it has a remote control. However the pre-set settings for strength -- at least on ours - are not good for beginners. It goes for 30 seconds at the high amplitude. You should progress at the lower amplitude with more sets at 30 seconds and then longer times with those sets before progressing to the shorter times at the low amplitude. I have seen impressive results in strength improvements and my wife who has bad knees has seen noticeable improvement in reducing pain and in improving strength. It also improves my flexibility in my hamstrings. I wish we had the commercial model but this one costs enough. I don't know about the other vibration trainers. But I know this one really works.
