Extremely Disappointing

Extremely disappointing. Thankfully I got these when they were on sale for $45. I had appropriate expectations because of the brand quality. These are super cute and definitely water resistant however they snag and pill so horribly that only after a short time of wearing them they are rather damaged. I'm scared to use my pill shaver because it might completely tear the fabric. Wish I could return them or get my money back. Read more

Good for casual or climbing wear

Great pants. I get PrAna for regulag wear and wear while rock climbing. The's are stretchy enough to do both. They are definitely a tight pant. I wear a 2 or a 4, and based on other reviews that they run small I got a 4. I would not have fit into a 2 and am glad I got the 4. I have a small waist (25in) and relatovely larger hips (37.5in) These fit snug in the hips and thighs but for me are a bit too loose in the waist. BUT that happens for pretty much all pants I own. Highly recommend these pants! Glad I grabbed them! Read more

Stylish, though inconsistent sizing

First, I do love the styling and color of these. I got both the Dark Olive and Sahara Sand. The Dark Olive is a very dark, neutral green that will go with many many colors. As much as I liked the Dark Olive though, the Sahara Sand is even better. While it looks a bit green to me on Amazon, the color is actually more of a taupe/elephant gray - muted, yet with a beautiful depth. The product pictures on the Prana website are much more accurate for color than those here on Amazon. The fabric on these is difficult to describe. It is not exactly as light as other quick dry pants, but it definitely is still lightweight. It is not smooth either, somewhat rougher than you'd expect, but I didn't find it bother me. I heard another poster call it "softer sandpaper", but I didn't feel it was that bad. I don't know if it's quick dry, but it does feel as though it should be. It's also somewhat stretchy (for comfort), while being fitted. Now for the inconsistencies I mentioned in my post title. I wasn't sure which size I was since many Amazon posters at my weight had talked about this running smaller than other Prana styles and that they were happy with size 2. Other reviews elsewhere showed inconsistency, some reviewers reporting it small and others large. I am a 00 in the Prana Halle pant. I am 5'2, 113 pounds with a slim somewhat straight figure, though I have an ample derriere and well developed calves. Waist - 26, hips - 35.5. Because I was so unsure, I went ahead and ordered the 0 in the Sahara Sand and the 2 in Dark Olive, with the intention of sending back the one that did not fit. Well, both fit, and very similarly. The 0 in the Sahara Sand is the perfect length for my short inseam and does not feel tight anywhere. The waist fits perfectly. The 2 in the Dark Olive is a bit longer, but tighter in the calves and slightly looser in the waist (but it's not as though they are falling off me). They felt so similar to the size 0 in the Sahara Sand that I had to check to see that I had actually ordered two different sizes. I was left wondering if this sizing issue was the reason for the contrasting reviews about sizing! I am going to keep both. The Dark Olive being looser in the waist will work for when I am feeling a little bloated. All in all, these pants are keepers to me, both comfy (stretchy and non-confining) and stylish to boot. Scratchy, Low Quality Synthetic Material

This fabric is unusually coarse, thick and scratchy for a Prana pant or product, very uncomfortable against the skin, so much so that I couldn't wear them for longer than 5 minutes. (I have no idea how someone said these were "comfy on a plane." They are incredibly irritating if you have sensitive skin, not "cozy" at all.) They are nylon and do stretch, but they are not as smooth as Prana's other synthetic "activewear" pants; the Meme pant being the smoothest (and softest, thinnest) and then the Halle second to that (thicker), for comparison; this Brenna pant falling into a very low third place in the (non) comfort category. These pants feel so cheap, I can't believe they are Prana. I am a size 2, ordered them in 2 and found that they do not run small, but they do run short. (I am 5'4" and wear a 32" length and these are right on the edge and would be too short for someone taller.) I wear a 2 in both the Meme and the Halle and found the Brenna 2 to be TTS, if not slightly bigger, actually. (Which leaves me to believe that the Meme skinny cargo, which is actually tight, runs small, based on the Brenna and Halle fits.) All Prana pants seem to be roomier in the waist and need a belt to fit optimally. For reference, I am 5'4", 117 lbs. with a 27" waist and 36" hips. Style-wise, in black, the design accent on the knee (it goes right over the knee) seemed to get lost in the pant and the way the fabric fell, it ended up looking like rumpled bunches, blended in with the other horizontal bunching which seemed to be happening throughout the pant and was not flattering. (They didn't lie smooth like on the model, due to the nature of the material.) The cut and design is actually nice, but it's the strange, cheap, scratchy material that kills the pant. (What a dream if Prana would make the Meme, Halle and Brenna in cotton, like the men's Bronson, etc. pants! Women want cotton, too.) I have no idea why Prana abandoned all of their amazing pants made of natural materials/cotton for women (which they still make in several styles for men--hey!) and are now only using synthetics (much cheaper to make), all of them treated with a 3M Scotchguard chemical on them (do we really need that on all of our Prana pants? unnecessary)--but charging the same price for much lower quality materials. Not only are these far less healthy (and comfortable) for our bodies, but very bad (their production, waste and also landfill status post use) for the environment as well, and it doesn't seem in alignment with Prana's Mission Statement or former MO, to me. What I used to love was all of their fabulous, once high-quality women's clothing (especially pants) made from natural materials made from cotton, organic cotton, lyocell, etc., and they now appear to be phasing them out--ironic for a once "environmentally conscious" company. Who wants to wear unbreathable, thick, scratchy, Scotchguarded, sweaty hot polyester and cheap nylon all day, especially in the heat of summer? Not me. It's unfortunate, as they will lose a lot of customers this way--like me, someone who will pay for both quality and comfort, something I expected from Prana but these pants have neither. Prana--please bring back the natural materials! Read more

Way too small, but really cute

Loved the style and material, but these do not fit true to size. I have several other prAna pants that fit true to size, and these fit much, much smaller than any other prAna pant I own (I'm usually a 10 in prAna, couldn't even get these above my knees). Other than an unreliable fit, these are a super cute style in a great material. Good colors too. Read more

Possibly used, arrived already pilling.

These pants arrived today, my birthday gift to me, and they arrived ALREADY pilling, as if they are possibly used. I know reviews say these pants pill easily, but they were pilled before I even touched them. That's super disappointing because I know I just spent over $40 but will only be able to wear these a few times before they just look raggedy. Read more
