Good color, great fabric weight, and for a change, none of the tier skirts design that seem to be the case for so many of the dresses and skirts that I've seen available these days. Sure, I get why: Tiered designs are cheaper to make and more efficient for fabric use, but nothing beats the clean lines of a solid shoulder-to-hem design. I found this dress to be very comfortable, quite warm (but not overly so...but in cold weather, one might wish to wear a shawl or layer clothing with it). On me the fit was great for a medium-size (5' 4" and 137lbs), and not overly long as is too often the case when I buy dresses, skirts, or slacks (I can hem garments, but it's a pain to have to do so). This dress is made from nice quality fabric. Overall construction is good, and you can tell that there is some attention to detail paid to how it was put together. The color is as represented in the listing. As others have mentioned, it is slightly shorter than in the photos. I don't have any issues with that at all, though. I am 5'4" and 110lbs, and the small fits me well. That said, I am not a fan of the seam that runs down the middle of the front. I can't get around that. I have some mixed feelings about this PrettyGarden dress. Let me start with saying that I just do not like the fit. I find the shoulders to be very boxy, and the pleating on the front hangs oddly at the top. I am also not a fan about the length, as it falls mid-shin and sits at a weird spot for someone of my height (5'9, 163 lbs). All that said though, these are personal opinions specific to my body. The fabric is pretty heavy so I would also question the breathability of it as a summer dress, but as a winter, spring, or fall dress the weight is an added bonus. It gives it a polished look. This would look great as office wear or casual dress, but I do not find that it would fit the "semi formal" category as listed in the item title. I also would not call this a maxi dress as it does not fit like one in any real way. Overall, this dress was not right for me, but I can see how it would work well for other women. The weight of the fabric and the movement of that weight would look great on the right person. Use of a Poly-Cotton blend is also an added bonus! At 50% Cotton, 43% Polyester, and 7% Elastane the fabric is likely to last and keep it shape after washing. Read more
