So beautiful. Absolutely love love the colors and pattern. Very lightweight, sheer and comfortable. Perfect cover up on top of bathing suit or perfect look on top of summer outfits like tank and shorts or spring dress. Made very well, professionally sewn. The fit is kind of large. PRETTYGARDEN Women’s Summer Kimono Coverup is great as a bathing suit covering when not in the pool - or as I wear these throughout the Summer - as a feminine, flowing, rippling short sleeve cardigan to cover up with during the Spring and Summer months. What exactly am I covering up - you may rightfully wonder? For one thing, I am older now and no longer have the toned tricep muscles of my younger, athletic years. As such, whenever I wear “sleeveless anything” in the Summer - I instinctively coverup my “bat wings” (read: old lady sagging upper arm fat) so it is not so noticeable and frightening small children as it flaps in the wind. Also, I tend to always be FREEZING in air conditioned restaurants and public spaces so this short sleeve cardigan kimono is the perfect wardrobe essential to fold and carry in my bag with me always. The silhouette of this kimono coverup has “bat wings” too - only in a much more stylish and arm fat-hiding glorious manner. Define irony: I’m hiding MY bat wings arm fat with the beautiful drape and “bat wing” silhouette of this kimono. Sometimes life doesn’t need to make sense - it just needs to work - and this kimono does exactly that with high fashion and utility. I like the dark blue floral aesthetic of the kimono I ordered as it pairs well with jeans and white linen Spring and Summer dresses and blouses. It is true to size and fits well for that reason. I ordered a 2X and it has lots of extra drape and length - which is exactly what I was hoping for when ordering one size up from my normal size. Anything that I use to wear over other clothes ~ I just automatically size up for that reason. The material itself is sheer and so lovely in profile. It is 100% polyester so be mindful of that if you tend to prefer 100% cotton or linen. That said, the polyester feels soft and has a slightly “silky” feel and drape to it. It is easy to launder. My kimono arrived with an odor of heavy perfume on it - I’m not sure why - so I laundered it on the gentle cycle in cold water and tumbled dry low for 15 minutes and it came out perfectly - and the perfume odor was thankfully gone. The current price of $10 (at the time of this review) for this understated yet elegant kimono is frankly a steal ~ and I will be ordering more of these kimonos in other colors ~ that’s how good of a value $10 is for a garment of this high quality and excellent design. This can be used as a cardigan / yukata (summer kimono) or as a bathing suit cover up. The material is rough and a bit scratchy. It is tough though for being pulled on. Maybe it will soften up some after a wash? You can hear it make that noise letting you know it is solid on the weaving. It can still be cut and torn, but not from sitting on it wrong. Its like rough scarf material. It has the stitching on the folded over hem to prevent fraying on the edges. The seams are double stitched to hold it together well. The color is just as shown for the lake blue floral design. With the material being so thin, it is quick drying. The garmet has flexibility in it's use. You know how some garmets are set as just one role, but this one you have a few options with it.
