There are so many occasions when I find myself unable to shower and need a refresh, so this Pristine no-rinse body wash called to me and I ordered. When I first tried to spray, the nozzle popped off. I got it back on and pushed the button to allow the spray to come through. It did, and not sure if that was the reason for the initial issue, but it happened once again a few days later. The spray applies fairly evenly and as someone who is sensitive to scents, I was pleased not to find this one objectionable. After spraying, I wiped it off with a dry cloth and it did leave a little sticky residue. The stickiness was gone after a few minutes, but I can't say I found the cleaning very refreshing. The next time, I wiped it off with a wet cloth and had better results: less stickiness, more refreshing. It does clean. I've used it for about a week after sweating, as an armpit refresh (removed the odor), and on my feet. Each time it was effective, mostly when I rubbed afterwards with a wet cloth. I'm frankly uncertain how I will use this. It would be nice if the spray nozzle had some sort of cap to secure it because it is vulnerable to breaking or coming apart. It also makes me nervous having a bottle of liquid in my camping gear versus a package of wipes. It has the advantage, however, of being more ecological than wipes. This bottle plus a small towel could get me through a couple of days. For occasional cleaning on the go, however, a package of wipes in the glove compartment or my suitcase is a much easier solution for me. Read more
Ok I was a bit skeptical of this, however not being able to shower while camping is a real problem. Or maybe the power goes out or some other problem occurs and you can't shower. Today I noticed I was a bit ripe, and decided it would be a great time to test this product out. The directions say to spray, wipe and air dry. So I tried a few sprays at first and wiped right away, and it helped a little, however it did not solve the problem. I sprayed a few sprays again and this time let it sit on my skin for 30-60 seconds and then wiped off. Problem was solved and I was no longer ripe. My skin did feel a little tacky afterward, and even 30 minutes later was still a little tacky, but it was bearable. I wouldn't say it's a "shower-fresh" feeling, but it's a big improvement. Even after almost an hour I still was not ripe, so it seems it does neutralize the odor and not just mask it. Also be careful not to have your mouth open at all when spraying this, as the mist does NOT taste good and somehow WILL find a way to make you have an unpleasant experience. This is a nice smelling cleansing spray. The actual citrus smell is very faint and I don't know if I would be able to detect citrus if I didn't know it was citrus. However, it does have a pleasant fresh smell that isn't too harsh on the senses. The sprayer itself is easy to use. It has a lock button that you push in. My bottle was received unlocked, so hopefully that's not a usual occurrence. The spray does seem a little lightweight/fragile and if this is mainly to be used for camping or outdoor usage, then I could see it breaking easier than other types of sprayers. The bottle isn't too big and bulky, so if you can treat it with care, it might hold up. After spraying and wiping, the cleanser does feel a bit sticky. Though, as it dries, it does seem to get less sticky. Since you do have to wipe it off, I don't know if I would consider this a better alternative than wet wipes unless you are using a towel in terms of eco-friendliness. At time of ordering ($12), this is a pretty good value. You'll get a lot of uses out of a bottle, but do be aware that you should be wiping this off, so it won't be as easy as spray and let dry. This review is for a 8oz bottle of Pristine Body Cleansing Spray. This product is designed to cleanse skin when you don't have access to water. The spray applicator delivers a good amount of product with each spray with a good coverage area. The scent is mild and pleasant. It does not feel sticky, and when wiped with a cloth, the skin feels cleaner. There is no alcohol to dry your skin, so it also stays soft. This product is great for use on the go, really any where that you won't have regular access to running water. I have been using some other Pristine products for years now, so I trust this brand which is Made in U.S.A. I would purchase this item again once I run out. Read more
I just did a Death Valley trail run and had the opportunity to use product. The bottle is on the smaller side and the spray nozzle is functional, at best. It has a decent fragrance but it’s not my favorite. It’s supposed to be a citrus scent but if it is it’s not very noticeable. To me it just has a general soapy smell but not a big fan of the scent. When applied and wiped off it leaves your skin with a sticky feeling as opposed to a refreshed cleansed feeling. That stickiness does go away after a while. I know the directions say water is needed, but I’m just not sure that works for me. I’m not a big fan of using just the spray and wiping it off. I imagine it does do its job of “cleaning“ you but it doesn’t give you that refreshed feeling. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised and I reckon this is not the fault of the manufacturer. This is more of just a personal opinion. So, this product probably accomplishes what it says it’s going to accomplish but I was left with a feeling wanting more. In summary, this is probably a good product to get if you want something in addition to cleaning wipes. It’s probably going be a good product for spot cleaning and will definitely improve your personal hygiene when in the field, but I think I may just stick with wipes and water and towel.
