I used this on my cleats in high school, and was really impressed because I was pretty tough on the toe of my right foot when pitching. Recently I had some hiking boots begin to come apart at the toe and separate from the sole. Tuff Toe doesn't advertise their product being used this way, but I thought it was worth a shot with this product instead of spending more than $100 on new hiking boots. I couldn't be happier with the results. I can't say it looks pretty, but it ain't bad and the woods don't care what my feet look like. The first time out I dunked both feet in water to test how waterproof it was - it passed the test. This seems very durable and I am sure I will be able to continue using my hiking boots for a long time. I highly recommend watching one of their videos, and really following directions. Tape the area off that you want to cover and keep the applicator tip moving as you apply. Also, this comes with two tips, meaning you get two uses out of it. That's it. When the material dries in the tip it is clogged. That wasn't any big deal for me because by the time I was done I had used it all up anyway. The "after" photo is after my first hike with the repaired boots. These boots have an upward slope on the toe, allowing your foot to rock forward as you walk. I was worried that this stuff wouldn't draw the toe back together and hold it, but it worked just fine. I dumped a lot of material between the sole of the boot and the boot itself, then put a board inside the boot and clamp around the board and the toe. My daughter is on a 14u fast pitch team. The product is very easy to apply. Watching the video for the proper application procedure is the most important thing that I would recommend. After watching the video and the technique used, the application is very easy and for one the first times, worked as described, held as it should, and looked as good as I would hope. The product has enough to do a couple of applications. Once opened, you have to use it within 30 days for any additional applications, according to the instructions. I applied the tuff toe to the drag toe and it is really holding up better than I expected. I was a little concerned when I initially applied the stuff. The black was glossy when first applied and it really stood out on the cleat. One practice later and you can't notice it is actually on the cleat. I have used Tuff Toe on the last few pairs of cleats my daughter has gone through and have recommended to friends in the past. Easy to use application that allows you to determine areas to be protected and thickness of the protective material. Has easily outlasted my daughter's cleats. The only drawback is that if using "white", expect it to yellow quickly with exposure to UV rays. That said, the clay on all white cleats (along with scuff marks) has the yellowish color blending in pretty quickly. Definitely recommend the product. Read more

If you have a baseball pitcher in your house, you probably buy a lot of cleats. Many pitchers drag the toe of their back shoe down the mound (right shoe for a right-hander). After a short time, there is a hole in the toe of what is otherwise a fairly new set of cleats. My son practices at home so cleats would last less than two months in our house. Problem solved. Tuff Toe works great! Once you have read the instructions or better yet watched the online video, you will be able to apply Tuff Toe in about 15 minutes. It takes about a day to completely harden. Up close it isn't pretty, but they have different colors to match your shoe that makes it fairly unnoticeable. There is enough product to do 2 shoes. There is no point to doing both shoes on one set of cleats, so save it for the next pair. Tuff Toe works by adding a thick coat of tough rubber to the toe of the shoe. This product has saved me a ton of money over the course of the past few years. I have applied this to every right toe area of every pair of spikes my daughter has worn while pitching. It wears forever and allows her to wear shoes out in other areas before the toe gives up. I have even applied it to her turf shoes which take the biggest hit as she uses them throughout the fall and winter and on bad weather days when getting outside isn't an option.
