Professional Bench Watch Case Opener Tool 6 Dies Adjustable Holder - Watch Back Remover Kit for Watchmaking Repair

I have seen 3 versions of this same tool. One is 1200 dollars one is 2400 dollars and I gave 85 shipping and all for this one. I cant say this is anywhere near the other ones but if you expect it to be for 83 dollars than you need to just go ahead and pay 2500 for one. If I would have paid 2500 I would not be one bit happier, this opener did fantastic for every watch I had been putting off opening because my magic 8 ball wouldn't work. Well all I can say is I waited for well over a year to buy this thinking it would be trash or just weak or whatever but this particular unit is very solid. I greased a few threads for fun and the main shaft and now its smooth as butter. I am not worried about the tool at all if I break this one somehow I could still buy 10 more and still be at a 3rd of the price of the swiss alternative. I am totally clueless as to how they can do this for this price. The tool worked absolutely flawlessly for my Wakmann triple calander and I had been waiting for over a year to open it because I was afraid this would damage it or would be junk or whatever. But trust me for 83 plus tax this is an absolute steal. I cant imagine how disappointed I would be if I would have just passed on this because its not swiss made. I am sick of Bergeon costing 20x the cost of everything else and from everything I have bought so far it absolutely is overpriced. I have a set of bergeon screwdrivers that I had to have because my Wrist&Style set was sooo inferior. Well not even 3 days in I sent them back as fast as I possibly could before i was stuck with them, they were good but I actually preferred the Wrist&Style hands down. The blades for them are TOTALLY SUPERIOR to Bergeon in every way. I hope they are still making them the same after saying this but I have been singing their praises for years now. I am just sick of legacy brands riding on their names when in reality a Chinese clone is 98% as good for 1% of the cost in some cases. Well rant is over. The opener is no joke its so much better than the hand held versions. I guess its because of the base that holds it level and firmly in place. My suggestion is dont trust a name brand all the time. Sometimes you can be very pleasantly surprised by the alternatives. Now if you own a a shop working on exclusively rolex or whatever high end pieces then by all means buy the top teir tool to go along with it. But if you're like me and just working on whatever comes your way for yourself and locals then do yourself a favor and give this a shot if nothing else you can return it and spend the big money if you dont like it as much as I do. While the packaging and delivery were fine, the parts included were hit and miss. I received 3 sets of the size round nibs, and one square (which is the most used for screw back cases). Now I have to go in search of a pair of square, and rectangle nibs. Still beats the price of a Bergeon 5700. Read more

Works pretty well. No real complaints but the vice holder seems to be a little off center from the center of the wheel and you have to be careful setting a watch in it. I use that vinyl tape that watches are shipped with to protect the case and crystal. You can get it to set there, sort of lock it in and having a strong stable circular force with the proper pins will open most any screw back watch case. Read more

First off it works much better than any other method to remove a watch back. That being said when I received mine some of the adjustment screws were jammed and it took quite a bit of doing to loosen them it was almost like the adjusting screws were cross threaded fortunately I was able to fix it and it works fine now Read more
