The Good (Why it's nearly 5 stars): The carbon fiber material is the clear winner here. They are genuinely anti-static, which is a huge benefit when working with fine or dry hair, preventing that annoying fly-away effect. The material is also noticeably heat-resistant and very easy to clean. The 8.15" length is ideal for long sections and provides excellent balance in the hand. The combination of fine and wide teeth on a single comb is highly efficient—the fine teeth are great for razor cuts and blending, while the wide teeth are perfect for separating thicker hair and working with shears-over-comb techniques. The Not Quite Perfect (Why 4 stars): My only critique, which prevents a full 5 stars, is that they are slightly thinner and more flexible than my highest-end cutting combs. While they are durable and won't break, they lack the absolute rigidity I sometimes prefer when trying to achieve super blunt, deep lines against the scalp. This is a large comb and the spacing between the teeth is a little greater than I'd like it to be. Maybe that's because my hair isn't 21 years old. Good comb, not great. Read more
