These are good quality glockenspiels. After having purchased this same model about 3 years ago to replace another model that did not last long, these have been excellent in the classroom. They are very durable, and have survived the rigors of elementary music students very well. The only issues I’ve observed are the little feet popping off, which can be put back on, and a few mallets getting broken by kids who weren’t handling them correctly. But considering these have been used by up to several classes a day, 5 days a week without any of the keys getting broken off of any of the instruments, they are phenomenal. I recently purchased a few more for additional students, and the quality does not seem to have changed. Read more

A week before Christmas, my grandson, 5, said he wanted a xylophone. Choices were obviously limited. This one caught my eye. It was blue (stereotypic, but forgive me, I’m old). It came in a case. It was pricier than I might otherwise have spent, but certainly affordable, and it was available! I was so pleasantly surprised. The case is very sturdy. And the sound is great, not tinny. As he initially wailed on it, the volume was concerning (lol, not to me as I don’t live with him!), but a quick lesson on playing it at an “inside volume” rectified that. The mallets fit nicely into the case as well. I took one star off of “sturdiness” as the mallets are a light weight plastic that seem destined to bend. Also, I had an impossible time opening up the case with a very difficult latch. I didn’t down rate it for that though, as the 5 year old had no issues with it! He loved it, and that’s a 5 star rating in my book! Read more

I have a daughter that is musical and she decided she wanted to learn the Glockenspiel of all things. I had no idea what it even was, but she found the one she wanted, put it in the Amazon cart and I bought it for her. I will say, that she rocks the Glock!! :) It has beautiful sound quality, it is not a toy but a true musical instrument, and it makes really beautiful music. She is now moving on to the piano, but she still frequently pulls out the Glockenspiel and treats us all to it's beautiful melodies. Read more

It was a good product for the price but the keys are a bit thicker than the average xylophone making the sound a little off. It’s kind of more metally and clanky than a “professional” xylophone. My kids still love it and I’m happy with the purchase. Read more

There is no assembly unless you count placing the letter stickers on the keys. This is the same one my sons school was using. Bought so he could practice at home. Its sturdy and an actual instrument, not a toy. My son is 8 and loves his. Read more
