This case is a solid find for the most part. It fully encompasses the device in a soft, rubbery TPU that gives it a much more comfortable grip and a real sense of safety. Living in a household with cats, the "zoomies" are a constant threat to my electronics ... so a proper layer of protection for the inevitable tumble is a serious must. There are, however, some practical trade-offs. Once the case is on, the device no longer fits into the stock cardboard docks. This isn't a dealbreaker for me because the case features its own built-in retractable stand that actually works better tbh... plus, I’d personally rather just print a higher-quality, custom dock that actually matches my setup anyhow. The more frustrating issue is the port clearance. I actually use a high-end dock when connecting to my TV for multi-user play, with a 90-degree angle cable—which are pretty standard and the most logical choice for the ROG—but the case prevents them from plugging in all the way. It really needs a proper cutout to the back end of the port to accommodate these types of cables. I’d still recommend this for the overall quality and the drop protection, but be prepared to make some manual modifications if you use a 90-degree charging setup. So off the bat, let's set proper expectations. This case isn't going to protect your Ally from a drop, it's just not that kind of case. What it will do is protect the grips from getting dirty, slimy, and scratched. The most useful part of this case is the kickstand, something that should have been included with the Ally to begin with. Even better, the grip is better with this case installed since it's rubbery instead of the smooth shiny texture of the naked Ally. Well worth the purchase! Read more
