I bought the PULACO 50GPH 3W Mini Submersible Water Pump to replace an older pump in my tabletop fountain, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Right out of the box, it felt well-made despite its small size, and setup was incredibly simple — just plug it in, submerge it, and it’s ready to go. The pump runs whisper-quiet, which is exactly what I needed for an indoor setup. You can hear the gentle trickle of water from the fountain without any mechanical hum in the background. The adjustable flow control is a great feature — I was able to fine-tune the water stream for the perfect sound and movement. Even though it’s tiny, it’s surprisingly powerful for 3 watts. It easily circulates water in my fountain, and I’ve also tested it in a small hydroponic system where it performed flawlessly. It doesn’t overheat, and I’ve run it continuously for weeks without any drop in performance. Cleaning is quick and easy — the front cover pops off so you can remove any debris that might get inside. Plus, the included tubing and suction cups make installation flexible and stable, so you can position it exactly where you want. For the price, this pump is a fantastic value. It’s durable, efficient, and perfect for tabletop fountains, small aquariums, hydroponics, or even DIY projects. I’ll definitely buy another if I set up more water features. Read more
It’s mostly what I expected. Arrived on time. It was perfect for our 2.5’ tall Small fountain. Could work for a cat fountain, or small to medium aquarium fountain. Is quiet and functional. After we tried it out, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to use it for because I could see more uses for it! :) The little suction cups underneath don’t work very well, but I’m happy with the price for the buy. Make sure it’s fully submerged, to protect the motor; OURS WORKS GREAT ! It’s small (1”x 1.5”x 2”), fits in the palm of my hand, and fairly discreet. The tube it came with is okay, not as quality as I had hoped, but it worked when I cut off a piece of a wide straw and put it on the inside of the tube before I attached it to the pump. Came with a couple basic attachments. It sped up a little after it started going, so watch for that so that it doesn’t overflow. Overall I’m happy with it. Read more
It is a very tiny submersible pump, but it's pretty tough. It will not pump out a lot of water, but if you need a small submersible, recirculating pump for a ten to 15 gallon tank, it'll work ok. I have hard water and that has killed cheaper pumps, so this is worth it. Plus it's small and has suction cups so you can hide it anywhere in a tank. The noise level is minimum and tolerable. The tube is a little large, but not very long. Just keep all of that in mind before buying, plus your needs. It says on the box you can use it for basement drainage, no you could not use it for that. It is way too tiny and nowhere near enough or fast enough suction power. For my needs it works great, just keep in mind it's tiny and will not pump out or recirculate a lot of water very quickly. Again, for my needs in a 10 gallon tank it works great at recirculating the hard water, and that makes it worth the price for me Read more
Have been using this tiny water pump 24/7 for at least a month. It has been completely reliable and takes up very little space in my small waterfall. Read more
It’s tiny, it’s basically silent, it’s just about perfect! Cons: it’s a bit difficult to adjust the flow rate by small amounts, and minimum is really off. But you won’t go wrong. You’ll love it, the cons are nitpicks. I’ll take them for something this small and silent any day. Read more
I ran this pump in a toad, snail and plant filled pond for two years. I used the hose to jet it clean once in a while and it’s worked great all this time running non stop. The water flow on high is surprisingly powerful for such a small pump, and it makes a nice soothing sound on low setting over rocks. Update June 2024 on my second pump purchased March 2024. I went to clear some weeds from the water surface today and thought something had bitten me, nope, the water was electrified! Immediately unplugged, all trust in submersible pumps is gone now! Pump and wire look fine but something went wrong! The only thing that broke it was cat hair getting into the pond and choking it, making it stop and burning out the motor, my bad for grooming pets near it. Instantly went to buy another as it was such a good pump for a great price. Read more
Upon opening the product, I was unimpressed that the tubing was sort of crimped and crammed into the package. It is a rather flexible tubing but someone could have as easily rolled the tubing to avoid any creasing to the tube. Also, the control device for regulating the flow of water doesn't allow for much gradation. If I was to go to the next lowest notch then water wouldn't flow at all. I'd rather have a device that allows for a continuous range of flow, like a dial. Somehow I was expecting there might be a couple of different attachments for the 'nozzle' but you only have the opening available that stems up from the pump itself. Turns out that I was able to make it all work for the specific fountain that I had but I can easily imagine that with a different fountain (or whatever) that this pump wouldn't quite do the trick. I'd give it a 3.5 stars if I could but that's not given as an option. It's not silent but it's also not terribly noisey. However, since I have to set it at the lowest setting, the water noises don't entirely drown out the low machine noise. Could be much worse, though. The pump itself is really tiny. Read more
