Door orientation makes a difference, and the anchor needs to be placed on the correct side so the door stays securely closed under tension. The same goes for attaching the straps to a pull-up bar—when set up correctly, there’s no metal-on-metal rubbing, but it’s important to follow the manual closely. I’ve been using these pull-up assistance bands to build my strength, and they are very strong and clearly well made. Before getting them, I couldn’t do a single pull-up, and now I can manage about five with the band’s support — a huge improvement for me! The only challenge is keeping myself balanced. I tend to swing a bit when using the band unless someone helps steady me, so it may take some practice to get the form right. One downside is that the strap scratched my legs during use when I wasn’t wearing socks or pants, so definitely keep some layer between your skin and the band.
