Pull Up Assistance Bands Heavy Duty Resistance Bands with Handles Exercise Band with Door Anchor Adjustable Workout Band

After a major shoulder injury years ago I've not even been able to hang on a bar let alone do anything remotely approaching a pull-up for over 5 years now (my how time flies). I had recently received another version of one of these pull-up assistance kits to review and it worked but I had to set it to the (almost) maximum height with all 4 bands just to get a pull-up and it did feel a little sketchy to get in and out of to be honest. At my weak strength and size it was not going to give me all the assistance I need to start this recovery journey and then I saw this one and jumped at the chance - I'm SO GLAD I did. At first I set it up the same way as the other one I have and it was too much assistance which was AMAZING, because now I was able to lower it and remove 2 of the bands and I'm still getting more assistance from the device than the previous one. So in fact I think they're a PERFECT complimentary pair - I'll use this one with 2 or 3 bands at a lower height to get my journey going, and then once I get to the point where 1 band (65lbs) of assistance at the lowest height is too much help, I'll swap in the other bands and give myself the ability to step it down in even smaller increments. Also the 2nd most important thing is WITHOUT QUESTION these foot holds are 100x better than the other kit - they're so easy to get in and out of and quite honestly I was grinning ear to ear after I used this the first time. I am so excited to continue my recovery journey and try to get back to the point where I can do at least 1 pull-up unassisted - without this tool here I know that dream would be unachievable. The resistance level is perfect, the strength of the bands and the whole kit really - the carabiners, the stitching, the bands, the touch and feel, and the carrying case - these people make EXCELLENT products with high quality materials. I am SO impressed. I didn't really know what to expect. I am physically disabled and haven't been able to do a lot physically at the gym yet post-injury. This product has a lot of parts, which I've been using kinda ... creatively, you might say? It's designed and marketed for pull-up assistance, which it works really great for! I love that there are multiple bands you can clip on to adjust how MUCH assistance you get. And also! I've been using the resistance bands with the non-slip handles on both sides of one of them to do resistance training in other areas of my body - hand to foot, hand to hand, cross-body, and foot to foot. I've also been clipping the resistance band to anchors and using that freeform with the non-slip handle, so there's a LOOOOOOOOT of custom workouts you can do with this single product. Because there are multiple bands, it scales with your progress. I mean, that's FIRE! The parts that are stitched are very sturdily stitched together. The non-slip handles are really comfortable to grip, even with my arthritis. It's very easy to install the system on your pull-up bar, or anywhere else, really! I do not enjoy working out. I did that in the military - didn't care for it. Most of my life I've worked a blue collar jobs so I did not need to do extra things to stay in shape, but now I'm white collar and the pounds started to stack with strength diminishing. This unit was a good way to begin a path towards a semblance of fitness without need for a ton of space taking equipment. What I enjoy most about this unit is that it is low impact - the bands resist, and I can move slowly and deliberately. Reps? I can just hold a position until failure a few times. Storage? Put it all back in the box that takes about as much space as a large hard cover book. I don't see the unit getting me into Mr. Olympia body size, but it isn't a body building tool - it's for maintaining and toning, which it performs well. I'm of the position thar is something is worth doing, it's at least worth doing poorly. By that I'll make the analogy of flossing - it's worth doing, but if you don't do it daily it's at least worthwhile to do a few times a week. This unit helps me in a similar way - I'm not going to a gym, but I am at least working my body more than I was and feeling the burn, working the kinks and joints and muscles some. A more motivated person would see some great toning. Using the unit is pretty simple - take the bits out, connect, use. Pro tip - you can lay down using bands under your feet if you aren't feeling stable. Overall I think this is a good value for the money, it's adaptable and works well for the non-gym folks such as myself, but would be a good supplement for the gym-goers as well. Read more

As I've gotten older, I have struggled a bit with maintaining upper body strength to the point where I can do several pull ups correctly. These bands, as others have indicated, are a great component to help build up to several reps of perfect pull ups. Despite looking complicated, this setup is very easy to understand and use. Basically, just hang the device on the pull up bar and adjust the length with the buckle. Then add your bands - up to 4 at 65lb of resistance each. Finally add in the foot straps and adjust and you're ready to get to work. I average about 185lbs, have some upper body strength, and needed 2 bands to start. Can't wait to start removing them. This device is made of what appears to be a high-quality nylon and even the bands have a covering, so seem very durable and should last a long time. At the current price of $42.99, this pull up assistance device is what I consider a great value if you are serious about hitting your goal in regard to upper body strength. If it's going to be draped across the treadmill you also own and don't use, just skip it. Otherwise, this is a product that can literally help change your life physically and mentally via exercise.
