I'm really hoping to improve on the upper body strength, And I wanted to be certain that the bar that I got had all the features I needed. Because I am a calisthenics beginner, one of the things that is most important is that the bar doesn't slip. This bar has an alarm that will let me know if it were to loosen, or if it's not put in properly (tilting). It also records data such as calorie burning, time and count. There is also no drilling and the amount of the pad that comes into contact with my door frame ensures confidence and good holding power. I have been using a ballet barre which has allowed me to exercise from a seated position, but it's time to move up to a hollow-body position and use proper form. So far I'm excited, and humbled. I can't wait to improve. This is a good bar with a lot of features and an incredible upgrade from a bar where I did not have full range of motion. I will say I wish the bar were a bit longer and thinner. For now, It serves my purposes and supports my weight. Read more
A nice idea but doesn’t work. No matter how tightly you have it pressed into the wall or door frame, It will still slide down when you hang from it, leaving really nice streaks all over. The anti sliding locks would come unlocked as I was twisting the bar to extend it, making me need to hold them in place while trying to extend. I’m not sure if mine was just defective, but when the counter is turned on it just beeps endlessly, a really annoying high pitched tone that doesn’t stop. The bases also require a lot of flat surface area to properly be in place, and for a door frame you most likely aren’t going to have that. Read more
This bar is very functional. I thought I got it for myself but my grandson, 10 is on up every time he passes it. So far it works very well for us. I do love the level that comes with it. We can always tell if we have installed the bar properly before we start using it. Read more
I wanted to love this pull-up bar. I thought it looked super-sturdy (I'm sure it is) and I liked the idea of having it actually tracking time, calories, and pull-up count. The description shows that you can use it in a door frame, but the reality is quite different. In this review, I'm showing three different door frames, one where this will work great, and two where it will not. Make sure you have an appropriate "door frame" to use it in (in my personal experience, it won't work in ANY door frame that actually has a door). First off, the part that "grips" your "door frame" is 4" wide. To meet the listed weight bearing of 550lbs. you'll need all of that surface area on your door frame. The problem is that I don't have a door frame in my entire house that has a perfectly flat surface that is 4" wide, except where there aren't doors. I've included three pictures in the review showing the different door frames I had in my house and the one where it'll work. Read more
