I've never had a slip on sneaker before, but it's more than that feature. It feels like it envelopes my foot completely, making my footfall feel more secure when I run. I bought these five months ago and wear them to walk my dog twice a day, covering 10K steps and strides as my dog runs, jogs, stops, sniffs, etc. When I wear any other sneaker now, I feel it more in my knees than with these, so they are also my next pair.
