Vibrant colors, good size

Anna KittrellApril 29, 2019✓ Verified purchase

I bought this skateboard for my five-year-old grandson for Christmas. The weather has just recently warmed so we will take it out and give it a ride soon. As for now, I can say the colors are beautiful, and the board feels sturdy and of good quality. Read more

Graphics Upside Down + Terrible Bearings

AKC MDMay 17, 2020✓ Verified purchase

So where to start. Let me just say that all the people who have given this board 5 stars are non-skaters buying a product for their children / grandchildren and so don't really have a metric by which to judge this product. I've been skating since the late 80's. Left it in college and for a few years now that my daughter is in middle school, have started skating again with her. We both have cruiser boards. Mine is an old school pool deck with wide soft 60mm wheels and reverse kingpin trucks (for maneuverability) and hers is an 8.25in wide popsicle board (double kick) with moderate concave mounted on Krux Trucks with 60mm OG Slimeballs for wheels. They are great for cruising around, but the large wheels make them difficult to perform tricks on. Enter the Punisher Skateboard. It was bought expressly so that my daughter would have an easier time to learn to do tricks, as it has small hard wheels (50mm) and is narrower (7.75in wide), so its easier to flip. I could have just bought a different set of wheels and kept the same board for her, but I didnt want to go through the hassle of changing out the wheels whenever we wanted to cruise or do tricks. Also, Punisher Skateboards in association with Braille Skateboarding, gives out many free skateboards to in-need skaters in California. I wanted to give them my money. The board arrived fine. When we went out to skate it, I noticed that the GRAPHIC WAS PRINTED UPSIDE DOWN! The skateboard has two kicks, one on the tail end, and the other at the nose. The kick at the tail is usually a little larger. The "Punisher" logo as well as the head of the blue "Puppet" graphic should be towards the nose end of the board. On mine they are at the tail! Everytime the board is picked up and the graphics become visible, they are upside down! Someone at the factory, entered the board into the printing press tail side first. To make a long story short.....shoddy quality control. Either that or they thought "This person wont know any better, send them the mistake that was printed upside down". Neither are good attributes of a company. To add insult to injury, the bearings are simply terrible. They are extremely slow and it takes many pushes just to get the board moving and then it stops a few yards later. Slow bearings are good to learn tricks on as the board doesn't slip out from under you so rapidly, but not so slow that riding the board is a PIA where your momentum wants to keep you moving forward but the board is not moving......a feeling very similar to wheel bite. Bearings normally have a break in period, but after 3 days of riding, these are not getting any better. If you're buying this for your kids/grandkids to introduce them to skating, save your money and buy something with a higher quality. If they're not going to enjoy skating they wont ever be seen on the board and that's $50 wasted. Buy them a decent setup; they'll enjoy skating, youll see them on the board more often, and that will mean $100 well spent. Read more
