So, this is literally my THIRD ear hole pillow to try and I’m SO happy to report that this pillow is a keeper! FINALLY! I was seriously about to give up and just try either a down pillow or something super mushy like that that would take pressure off my hurt ear. THIS ear hole pillow is very soft and not hard like 2 other ear hole pillows that I tried. It doesn’t hurt my face and jaw where the ear hole ends and the part of the pillow begins where my face goes. I’m not asked to pull stuffing out of this memory foam pillow and it has zero smell compared to another memory foam ear hole pillow I tried. It is a bit smaller of a pillow and is a little oddly shaped, but I can still use my regular pillow cases on it and it still works just fine. It looks a little awkward, but I don’t care because I sleep really well on it, it is very comfortable and cushiony, and my sore, hurt ear can rest easily in the ear hole which gives me A LOT OF RELIEF. Apparently, I got these sores on my right ear because I only sleep on my right side and for some reason years later that has caused some major problems for my right ear. I have heard that ear hole pillows can not only give you relief, but can also help with the healing of your ear and I am hoping for both. Before this pillow, I was sleeping on another memory foam pillow that I had been sleeping on for a really long time and I think it might have been time for a new pillow because the memory foam was getting a little harder. Anyway, if you’re looking for an ear hole pillow that is NOT FIRM OR HARD, but super cushiony and soft to sleep on, still with plenty of support, I highly recommend this pillow. It comes with 2 pillow inserts if you want the pillow to be higher up, but I’m tall (5’ 8 1/2”) and I do not like high pillows because it’s uncomfortable to my neck so I won’t need the inserts. It cost a little more than the other 2 ear hole pillows I tried, but I’ve learned that very often you definitely get what you pay for. Hope this review is helpful. Read more
I really love this pillow. It's my 2nd one. I used the first one for about 3 years, and it was starting to go a bit flat in the front, and the channels below the ear holes were getting much wider causing the pillow to have less support. I bought this one recently as a replacement. This pillow has eliminated the neck pain I used to wake up with every morning. Whether you sleep on your side or your back, this pillow supports your neck and head to ease the pressure that causes upper back and neck pain. I also have TMJ, and it's very helpful for that also. I put a standard sized pillowcase over it, and my ears can still access the holes perfectly when sleeping on either my right or left side. The pillow I have is the softer version of the 2 that are offered. For me the firmness is perfect. You can remove one or both of the thin flat supports based on how thick you want the pillow to be. I use both of these thin supports and also use a flat standard sized pillow under this memory foam pillow, and the height is perfect for me. I purchased this pillow a year ago because I sleep on my side exclusively and have painful cartilage nodules on both ears. Before the purchase I had resorted to carving holes in 3" foam from the craft store and using that as my lower pillow - not terribly comfortable but better than any regular pillow. In addition it helps me fall asleep if I cover my exposed ear - regular pillows would stay in place there, but the pressure of even a lightweight pillow really hurt my ear. I am a small woman. The height of this PureComfort side sleeper pillow, minus "risers" , is perfect but the sides (between outside edge and hole) are long enough that it makes breathing through my nose tricky. My compromise is to use the craft foam pillow for below and the PureComfort above. Making a head sandwich : )) The Pure Comfort is dense and supremely soft. Because the hole doesn't go all the way through, the pillow acts like a noise canceling headphone - making voices and car traffic on my busy street disappear. The lack of pressure on my ear cartilage has helped heal it. I'd been afraid the memory foam would be hot in the summertime, but it stays comfortable all night long. I expect this is an unconventional way to use this pillow but it works wonderfully for me. If they every came out with a smaller version I'd get it too! Read more
