When my doctor suggested that I start taking collagen powder I thought "Oh no! Another gritty thing that is supposed to be tasteless that will be a total pain to take." I had been whining to him about my aching joints, my thinning hair and my dry skin. We are on good enough terms that I told him what I was thinking. He said that no, it wasn't like that, and that in fact he takes a scoop every morning in his own coffee. He suggested this brand because it has the additional biotin and hyaluronic acid , so it is the only one I have ever tried. I am now putting a scoop in my first cup of coffee of the day, and amazingly, it dissolves instantly. And, in the intensely flavored dark roast that I use, it really is tasteless. I cannot tell that I have added anything and that is exactly what I wanted. So from the point of view of what is the "ick factor", the answer is none. Now, how well does it work. I deliberately waited to write this review until I had been taking it for a month so I would have a better basis for judging its efficacy. After I was diagnosed with Diabetes II, my osteoarthritis started getting worse, my hair was thinning rapidly, my skin was very dry, I was showing signs of inflammation. I felt like I had aged 5 years in less than two. Since I started this collagen in my morning cup of coffee routine just a month ago, I am already seeing signs of some improvement. I see a lot of new hairs on my scalp just peeking out and my skin, although still very dry, isn't flaking so much.I was cleaning the other day, and realized that I wasn't having as much problem with my knees when trying to squat to clean in low places. When I thought about it, I was also not as stiff in the mornings as I was before I started this regimen. Although I was very sceptical I guess my doctor was right, I really needed this supplement. He warned me that it could be several months before I noticed an improvement, so I am gratified to be seeing signs of improvement after only a month. So I'm not but about a week in BUT I'll tell you what I know so far. It tastes good. I have only had it in my coffee in the morning but it definitely adds something fantastic to the flavor. It's so good if I go back for a 2nd cup I'm disappointed I can't add it lol. Also on too the most important part. I bought this because my hair was actively thinning. I basically bathed in drano. (Long story) drano dissolves clogs aka hair lol along with losing weight... possibly also a nutrient deficit. Either way my hair was falling out in clumps. (My WORST NIGHTMARE) I had changed my diet I had tried viviscal and for about 2 or 3 months straight I was shedding drastically I lost a good 50 percent of my hair volume.
